after reading your explanation, I "get it" now but I sure wasn't in the minority. thinking out of the box is encouraged here but this was a stretch, even though it is a wonderfully executed image.
I actually scored this better than you got ... I figured that the concept you talked about was what you were looking at ... although I don't think that was conveyed in the shot.
Hmm...sorry, I see absolutely NO connection to the challege topic, and though I have looked at this for awhile, and tried to think of a possible connection, for me, there is none. For me, personally, this is a DNMC.
Back for comments. You know you shouldn't have submitted this one. :) A very competent shot but it doesn't represent the theme anywhere near as well as you could've done. Damn our update button addictions. :)
Nice color, lighting, and clarity; makes for a very interesting abstract macro...however...it is quite vague in it's connection to the "Mother" challenge. It's difficult for a viewer to establish a connection to "Mother" by looking at bubbles. I have a feeling you'll suffer in the voting for that reason alone. DPC is historically rigid on challenge interpretation and if your voters can't get the connection within a few seconds, you are out of luck. Best wishes in this and subsequent challenges.
great shot of bubles, but where's mother... mother nature? conception? im not sure what you were trying to get accross in thsi shot. I feel like there was no meaning to it just something that looks nice.
I am sorry, but I do not see the relationship to the theme with this photo. "Mother" can represent many ideas and views but I cannot see how this photo represents "Mother".
Unfortunatly I couldnt get mother out of this. If you could call it maybe cells, being part of mother nature or something I cold maybe connect it but just bubbles...I still gave it a 5 even though I normally socre lower for one I cant connect to a challenge. I like your colors and the focus on the bubbles is good, crop is nice, just dont get mother...
Mother? Bubbles? A nice shot, indeed. Some deeper meaning that I just don't get? I guess so. Can't wait for the challenge to end. Perhaps there is an explanation attached to the entry.
I've come back for a second look. The picture isn't too bad, but I'm just wracking my brain trying to come up with the mother-bubbles connection. It eludes me.
You'll have to forgive me if I completely miss the connection to the challenge here. I have thought of 'mother' in every sense I can think of, and not once do bubbles cross my mind. The shot is neat. I like the bubbles, and the color is amazing. Focus on the bubbles is nice and crisp, and DOF is appropriate. The photo just says nothing about Mother to me. Sorry. ~Heather~
