 This was taken on one of the most beautiful secluded beaches in New Zealand. I saw this shell and thought about how one day it would soon become the sand that it lay upon.

I am dissapointed with the sky, as this had to be darkened artificially, but happy with the overall result.

Hey this is really nice. I love the macro/shallow dof choice....light and colors are excellent too. Good job.

Is the DOF here natural? It seems so sudden that I can't help wondering if it was added with a gradient gaussian blur in PS. That said it adds an interesting effect, almost mirage like.

Nice use of bokeh, maybe a little bit too yellow, but good in whole.

For some reason, don't find the DOF works here, I keep wanting to include the background in my visual scan because it's there and the colourings of it are so unusual.

Your muted colors are great for this, I love how you have the low view without the foreground being so blurry. I dont like the sky much but The shell stands out so much Its hard to focus on anything else so it didnt effect your score.

This is pretty cool. I love the colors and tonality of the picture - you really did a good job of bringing out the textures as well. Good DOF. Nicely done.

Not a picture that usually apeals to me...
However in this instance i love it. I love the very shallow depth of field, i love the focus and i love the colours.
9 from me.

7 - Very good. Criticism; difficult, but even sharper on the shell, especially the top edge, making it 'pop' more would make this even better in my opinion. Like the simplicity here and 'composition' and colors. Would like to see more detail/texture in some of the sand too. Not sure on the white frame, but minor.
