I remember seeing this ribboning in the Industrial Challenge but never got around to commenting on it. I really love those deep rich orange and chocolate browns in this photo. It is those hues that really make the image visually appealing - eye candy if you will. Very well done image to make the stereotypical dirty & cold steel of the industrial age look so beautiful.

Even industry has a beauty to it--especially when you get that camera working Ursula. What a great title!

Congratulations on the ribbon!

This is gorgeous, ursula, and you have inspired me to pay more attention to the mundane factories that are around me. Thanks, and congrats.

Since the crop you chose focuses so much on the sky, I probably would have picked a title like, "The Cloud Factory," but "Chocolate" obviously worked, and what could be more appealing than chocolate? I probably would have used a subtle inline on that dark border, too. I gotta find SOMETHING to criticize, right?

YOU are on a roll!. CONGRATULATIONS!

I like this colored version more. The biggest asset of this picture is the composition. Very graphic. You have a good technique in composing your shots.

Guess what? This photo was made 1 minute and 16 seconds after the other one above, and about a block down the road (I was in my Subaru for both, too lazy to get out).

Ursula - of course! This photo could only be yours. I knew you wouldn't disappoint in this challenge! Great processing - a wonderful effect and all the more interesting because I feel this is much darker than most of your imagery.

I like your photo. For me, your choice of title doesn't enhance the photo (unless it's a chocolate factory), but I like the colors - really nice. 8

Good effective image. Clouds and smoke works very well here. At first I thought the horizon wasn't horizontal, but wrong after viewing the accurate vertical chimney. Very good image

7 - Good effect and lighting. Criticism; apologies if I am wrong, but this seems like it needs rotation/straightening. Toning is good, but it just seems 'tilted'. 2nd look - looks like it might have a pier/jetty/causeway(?) going out into water, but it is barely discernable, still, looks slightly 'tilted'.

Great positioning to achieve a wonderful backlit silhouette. I like the way it makes such a strong diagonal across the frame. Personally, I'd crop the building out completely so we had a really surprising presentation of a vast cloud billowing from a tiny chimney.
