Last DPC comment. Not sure it's gonna stay, but:
One of my faves, ever, from you. There's hope, a glimmer of it, in her eyes.

Except for the editing used for the eyes, this shot is so reminiscent of those old 40's head shots...the lighting is spot on (and I just saw a picture of Etta James shot almost exactly the same). Really great shot.

Yip, you're the master of the portrait. The lighting is flawless. I can see a lot of work around the eyes, especially the left eyebrow. I wonder what the original looked like? Anyway, a beautiful portrait and I'm sure the model is pleased too.

Very pretty woman and a well done photograph. How I wish it wasn't the style to crop off the top of the subject's head in portraits now days. It just makes it look incomplete to my eyes.

Very nice portrait. I like the angle you used and the b&w works really well here. Focus, detail, and DOF are nice..... 8

One of the better portraits I've seen in this free stufy. Excellent capture of expression in the eyes. The bottom left corner is a touch distractiong.
Good job

Beautiful expression, artistically lit (especially the eyes!), and great use of shallow DOF. The eyelashes on her right eye look a little odd, either over-processed or too much mascara.

I like the light and shadow. The perspective is nice. I feel as if she is slightly out of focus. Her eyes are very intense and even show through in black and white. They must be blue or light green. The wisp of hair falling down on her right side is a nice touch. 7

I always scan for the portaits first and was thrilled to find this one. Interesting composition, nice lighting, wonderful detail in the eyes and an endearing expresison from your subject. I really wish the top edge of her left eye wasn't in such a dark shadow, but that's very minor. 8

Very classic and classy shot, reminiscent of those grand movie stars from the b/w era. Very nice use of shallow dof, I appreciate the minimalist processing approach. There's clarity in her eyes, steadyness and strength of character in her gaze, a naughty promise in her smile, and a rare awareness of self in that wisp of stray hair. She knows what she wants...
