Tim, I was really impressed with this shot... Everything I have seen that you have submitted here is really great work. I felt sure this one would get a ribbon this week :)

Great shot for the shadows challenge, or B/W.
06/16/2002 09:09:00 AM
Very cool, nice high contrast black and white, very interesting camera angle. This is the kind of photo I want to give 10 for creativity alone :)
06/15/2002 03:40:00 PM
Very creative, good work."9"
06/14/2002 11:02:00 PM
cool! Would have been better on the shadow challenge!
06/14/2002 10:43:00 PM
Beautiful!
06/14/2002 06:16:00 PM
Nicely rotated - when the image is loading slowly it looks like the shadow and the bike are reversed. Maybe get rid of the blur next time? It might remove the feeling of action, but I guess it's personal choice
06/13/2002 08:17:00 PM
excellent. i like how there's a lot going on in this shot but without being too busy.
06/13/2002 07:01:00 PM
I really like how you made this vertical rather than horizontal.
06/13/2002 04:47:00 PM
I like the way the "real" image is in the place the shadow would have normally been. This would be an awesome shot for this week's challenge as well. Great job.
06/13/2002 12:46:00 PM
I love this shot. I love the angle, the blacks and whites. It's perfect for this challenge.....heck, even next week's challenge! One of my 10's this week. :)
06/13/2002 07:04:00 AM
I probably like this picture more than other people do. I like seeing objects at strange angles almost as if it were a mistake. This could have been a great submission for next weeks challenge. :)
06/13/2002 01:21:00 AM
Would've been great for this week's too...I like the way you've "reversed roles" betwen shadow and object.
06/13/2002 01:04:00 AM
I really like this one. Black and white works well here. It seems a little pixelated, but is very nice nonetheless - 9

very creative. i like the inversion of shadow and reality. one of my 5 best.
06/12/2002 05:14:00 PM
I believe that this is probably my favorite photo this week. I wish I had an *eye* for creativity like this. This photo definitely stands out in this pack as the most creative. The upright and horizontal orientation of the shadow in this shot is perfect for me :) The shadow is leveled out nicely to offer a very high contrast against the road surface, and I love the way the black and white choice accents that contrast. On the technical side of this photo, I don't know how much post processing was done, but assuming that it wasn't a lot, you may have been slightly over exposed... the road surface looks a little 'hot'. Excellent photo! = 10

Very nice, great angle!!
06/12/2002 11:18:00 AM
Very interesting framing and angle. It would've worked better in the Shadow challenge, eh? :)
06/12/2002 12:00:00 AM
I love the "illusion" in this that the shadow and its creator have switched places. Great call to turn it the 180. I'm having a hard time defining the element that's niggling at me. Perhaps that it's so bright? Pretty much purely black and white (I recognize that there's a lot of gray -- it's just very light). I wonder if bring up the midtones, making the ground a little darker, would help. Dunno, just my two bits.

Next week! (joke) Really good shot, works well in B&W. Photo 9 Creativity 7 Road 8 total 8

oooo, bet you wish you had waited to submit this!! great shot, nice motion capture.
06/11/2002 04:17:00 PM
I bet you're kicken yourself tor not save'n this for the shadow challenge. Amazingly strong contrast works well in B/W.
06/11/2002 03:48:00 PM
Like it! Would have made a good entry for the last challenge (black and white) Even got a bit of product placement/logo advertising in.
06/11/2002 03:35:00 PM
great shot! congratulations
06/11/2002 11:34:00 AM
Now THAT is a great shot.
06/11/2002 09:25:00 AM
A little wierd in the bottom left, but I think you planned it this way. I really like this shot. My #2 pic for the week!
06/11/2002 07:14:00 AM
This is a wonderfully entertaining photograph, and it would have done well in the "Shadows" challenge as well.
06/10/2002 11:32:00 PM
Oh man! One challenge too soon. Still high on my list.
06/10/2002 11:04:00 PM
I do not like this angle at all, but a 7 for originality. bet you wished you would have saved this for shadows
06/10/2002 10:02:00 PM
I like it! You've given the viewer something to ponder in a way that is entirely out of the box. Very good! This would also have worked well for the next challenge "Shadows."
06/10/2002 09:01:00 PM
Great photo. Top 5 for me. Should be retaken for this week's challenge also.
06/10/2002 07:45:00 PM
Nice picture... little did you know that the next challenge would be shadows eh? Murphy's law I guess. Good job.
06/10/2002 03:49:00 PM
Nice work, good tones.
06/10/2002 03:25:00 PM
nicely done!
06/10/2002 03:11:00 PM
Really deep dark shadow. I like it. I'm not even sure you needed to include as much of the 'real' rider as you did.
06/10/2002 02:46:00 PM
This would have been a great photo for the NEXT shadow challenge. Also good for this one. Great shot.
06/10/2002 02:22:00 PM
Should have saved this for this week. Congrats yours is vote 86 of 108 and of the 2 dozen or so B&W attempts it is the only one that is not a gray and gray.
06/10/2002 10:27:00 AM
You entered this one week too early! ;-) This is cool, I like that you have rotated the photo, too.
06/10/2002 08:33:00 AM
I really like this one---the potrion with the actual bike and riders foot is (to my taste) unnecessary. The shadow is a really strong image on its own--still a great shot.
06/10/2002 12:50:00 AM
Great shot, but now that you've read the upcoming challenge, aren't you kicking yourself?
