When I voted on this in the challenge I must admit I didn't really give it a fair assessment. Looking at it now I see the relevance of the title and can appreciate the use of the negative space. Also the quad-toning with a gold hue works very well.

Wow! This is good! I love how you got the birds to work with you. Too bad I didn't vote on this challenge because I sure would have helped boost your score even higher.

I meant to come back and comment on this shot but didn`t get the chance.
Must have spent 10 mins just gazing at this when I viewed it for the first time during the voting stage...it was so engrossing.
It was difficult to pull myself away to continue voting.

Congrats on the high placing.
Great work.

I would like to see a bit cropped off the bottom, but other than that good photo...7

Nice postcard shot, although a little overprocessed. Seems almost like a watercolour, and bhat nugs me a little. Good tonal range and focus though. 9.

Nice capture. I love the glassy feel of the water and the silhouettes with their refections!
that lonely bird on the right does make it even better as it hints of a story for our minds to create... very well done and high contrast as well! good luck

Although the upper left gets a little more even toned (but I think that helps with the overall balance), I like your entry. Good high contrast.

Cool capture. Not crazy about the border, but love the tones and composition.

Interesting balance between light and dark in the water. The busy birds lead the eye along the top whereafter you go down to the lonely one, leaving the viewer wondering why he's no part of the group.
Good composition, interesting light and contrast, I like the mood of the tone. Restful. 8

Superbly cropped and maniplated. Love you choice of tone as well. I also enjoy how the tone travels from lower right to upper left (light to dark). I also love the fcat that the image isn't tack sharp either.
