Greetings from the Critique Club
My first thought when I saw this was "oh, this must be one of Joey Lawrence's grunge students" in your mentoring thread. And then, I scrolled down a bit further and thought, "oh, (bleep), I'm supposed to critique a J.L. image?"
Nevertheless, I signed up to do this, and I'm gonna try.
Dead center composition is tough, and you've just about pulled it off here. In this scene though it's just a bit difficult to know what you want to be the center of attraction: you and the intriguing setup behind you, or the "Hot" lights. I keep bouncing back and forth and each time, wishing those lights weren't so blown out. I realize you were probably accentuating the High Contrast aspect with them, but in my opinion, you had that nailed without the lights.
Otherwise, you've used a fun technique and when I can figure out how to load it properly into my CS2, I'll play with it too.

| Congrats on a solid finish dude. Not sure if you suffered from overexposure or not (your talent on the site, not the shot itself), but I thought this should have finished much higher. Still, a very strong shot and finish. Good job! |

This is weird Joey. Been listening to the Doors again? That music is full of subliminal messages....better watch out. LOL
Came back to say one more thing: This photo really isn't high contrast....HOWEVER< the painting you are working on there (implied) is. So im bumping you up a tad. :)

| compositionwise a bit cluttered around your head and the highlights got out of control for my taste nevertheless they never fail to grab me ure grainy and moody stuff :)amongst all the smoothness around:( |

| This would be a very cool portrait photo. For me though, aside from the bright lights on either side, the overall tones are similar and not as high contrast as compared to other entries in this challenge. |

I wonder how many "I recognize joey!" comments this will garner? I'm guessing 40? You got balls anyway, kid. It's a good shot, too. I just kinda wish you'd used one of your friends as a model to see how you made out unrecognized.
But then, I keep submitting the same location over and over myself, so who am I to say?
