I really like this shot. There are only two things that don't scream 'time capsule' at me and those are the garage door behind him looks really new and wouldn't the shirt have been tucked in? Not that I would really know, I wasn't around then but all in all it's a beautiful photo. Congrats.

Love this one. He looks authentic and the desat of the red works. The garage door is a tad more modern, but other than that - Good one!!

One of my two favorites in this challenge. It certainly portrays the early fifties feeling. Bravo!

Now if his sleeves were rolled up (and a pack of cigretts tucked in one) it would have absolutely been complete!!! BOL Nicely done. Also need a girl in a poodle skirt around for the bike. Ahhh. Those were the days. Came back to punch this up a notch.

Well done. I'm not particular to the colour of the shot (needs some adjustment in saturation/hue in my opinion to really make it stand out, but it did catch my eye...Great shot!

pretty good, the garage door could have been substituted for something else though

7 - Good effort to meet the Challenge (in my opinion a photo of this put into a time capsule would capture this era for future generations well). I like the b/w and the 'style'. Criticism; I think you have captured the essence quite well but for me, it just needs an extra 'something' - perhaps angle, rather than straight on. As far as true 'authenticity' goes, the shirt and jeans (while close) are not 'true' so maybe not as much detail on those, or just as I said a different angle, may have made this a better photograph in my opinion. It looks like you had fun though and definitely made an effort to meet the Challenge and for that I say well done. And extra points for finding a Coke bottle in that shape.

Everything fits really nice into the challenge except the modern looking garage door. I like the set up of the photo. I would have liked there to have been a more even space around the coke machine and the boys shoulder, but that is a minor detail.

Very nice composition, simple yet strongly conveys the idea. Nice attention to detail with your model, complete to the greased hair. The bike is a real nice touch. Good job.

kool... those bikes and coke machines are great except back in 1954 they looked a whole lot newer...but perhaps he is from the wrong side of town... he's no soc ( think The Outsiders)...this would totally rock if this were set against a cement wall, or brick...anything but that suburban lookin' garage door.

A second look...still really kool...I just love fifties stuff...and I forgot to give ya kudos on the slick pomp do...looks good and greeazy.

This is a great picture.. the only thing throwing it off is the garage door behind them... looks a little modern... or maybe just in too good of shape. Truely shows behavior of times ago, when it was ok for a man to drink with his pinky finger up. great pic. 8

excellent moody shot. every element in the photo helps to bring the mood of the era, except the background. Is the a garage door? 8
