I really like the "randomness" of this composition. Though it looks like you have carefully stacked the books, there is enough "out of line" that it still looks haphazard and natural. I also think the lighting is interesting, but the strongest point of this picture, I feel is the angle or perspective from which you have shot. The upward angle gives it a dynamic feeling, and makes the viewer feel as if they are climbing up this stack of books.

The focus, though very sharp and clear on the orange one (where my eye seems to rest each time) is a little soft at the bottom and top. Though the soft focus at the top doesn't bother me, I feel that a sharp focus at the bottom would really help lead the viewer's eyes into the shot more.

As far as the challenge is concerned, you have met it because you have included secondary colors. You have also included primary and tertiary if I am not mistaken, and this may have caused some voters to not consider it a strong picture for the challenge.

I looked up Taschen on the Internet (trying to figure out the "pun" from one of your comments and making sure I wasn't missing some obvious symbolism). Very interesting collection they showed on the website. Still not sure if that was another "connection" to the challenge or not.

Anyway, good picture, and I wish you the best in future challenges.

i think this image would have been better if you would have taken out the blue, silver and pink books

Very cool perspective. It really flows well.

focus in the lower portion of the image seems just a tad soft... can't see any real reason to have selective focus in the center of the image rather than throughout the whole image... = 5

Aren't "Taschen" pockets? How come all these books are called Taschen? Are they pocket-books? Nice picture, btw.

I keep going back to this photo and rating it higher and higher. You started with a 5, now you get an 8. THere's something about it. Very well composed, and not perfectly which I like. The colors of the books go in such an interesting order and they are all the same. Great shot.
