I like the dramatic angle of this, and the shallow depth of field could be more effective, I think, if the glass part was more in focus. The colors are a little drab, too, to me. Maybe convert to a pure bw or sepia and use a lot of contrast?

My guess here is that it is a CD player lens, hence the glass. Unfortunately I cannot tell if that is the case, as it is out of focus. Would also have suggest getting really close and making that the full focus of you shot, as I do not think, anything else here helps improve it.

I'm not sure what this is. The subject seems to be the round (glass?) thing in the middle of the metallic square thing. Everything outside that square seems to be wasted space. I don't see it adding anything. Maybe a close up on the subject would have fared better?

I see what you are getting at and it's a creative idea. But the focus is too far back from the glass lense. Unless this is exactly what you were going for.

The glass part is kinda blurry. Plus I think the glass (the subject) is too small and gets lost in the rest of that gizmo.

Interesting shot of a CD player. Unfortunately the lens is slightly out of focus - the focus seems to be about 1cm in front of the lens.

Looks like disc snapshot, no special effect, no cool lighting,no interesting objects :-(

it may be clever but it's just possible that I'm not..... if that glass is in the far hole, the one that is in focus, then I can't see it.... if it's the round bit that's closer, then it's out of focus..... either way I don't think this is an overly strong image..... too much foreground and background and the round thing on the left is quite distracting too.... I'd be happy to discuss this with you after the challenge, maybe I'm missing something..... not sure...... good luck, Todd.

Just missed the lens with the focus point.

I have no idea what this picture is supposed to be showing, and the part that should probably be clearest is blurry.

I would of have put the focus on the lens

Sorry, I don't know what you were depicting here. Maybe if it wasn't so close up I could make it out better.

Sorry, I'm not getting it. I see what looks like some glass, but it's out of focus and I can't tell what it is. Without some context, the DOF seems too shallow and I don't see anything interesting.
