CC: well congrats on the placing! You found a great non-flora subject, and took this at a good time. The light falling on the foreground head really sets it appart from the rest and you've used the DoF well to isolate it further. You might have been better filling the frame slightly more, and losing the 1cm or so of green border at the top, though that's marginal. The almost horizontal and light piece of grass in the background is a bit annoying. Great entry.

This must be that mushrom pic they discussed so much in the forums on the first day of voting. I actually like it a lot. High marks from me for not using flowers.

I don't know how much these are flora. Close enough for me though in terms of meeting the challenge. DOF could've been a little greater. Overall not a bad shot.

Great shot! The colors and focus here are great. I DO consider this flora and this deserves a high mark. Then again, i've always liked shrooms. I've never seen these before.

Not flora! But hey, I only learned that this week so I'll let you off ; )
I like the way you've filled the fram from top to bottom with the 'heads' and the green background makes the browns stand out really well. Nice shot, well done.

Interesting shot. I like the way the light highlights the mushroom that is most in focus and in the foreground. Good setup

My pick of the week. Flawless, but if I were picky it might be just a tad bright on the main one. An outstanding picture of a very delicate subject. 10

This really appeals to me because it ISN"T a flower shot after seeing so many in this challenge. Very clever and unique. Although, the lighting is just a tad harsh on the front tall mushroom, the rest are perfect. Nice detail showen, especially on the mushroom in the bottom left corner. Good luck in the challenge...I hope you do well. 9 from me.

Beautiful pic, the only mushroom one I've seen in this challenge. I like the way the main mushroom a the front is lightened up like that, as if it is in the spotlight - 9.

Hurray! Not another flower! The mushroom on the right is so crisp! The light from above, and yet the white stems seem to glow. I might crop it to draw more attention to that one mushroom. But I like this photo the way it is too.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for not going out and taking a picture of wildflowers, or going and buying them at the store! THANKS! I love this pic... the one mushroom that is best lit is also best in focus, and you can really see the detail. It really stands out! I love it! Nice job with DOF, use of natural light, and subject! Perfect 10!!

I don't think fungi are classified as "flora," but we'll keep that our little secret. I love the tones and colors here, but I wish there was more DOF. really engaging photo! 9
