This critter was sunning himself between spring rainstorms this morning. He spread his wings to further dry his feathers shortly after a spring shower.

Shari,
Thanks for the review of my buzzard shot. I agree that a tighter crop would have been more effective. As it is this rendition only represents about 25% of the original picture and it was starting to break up, so I stopped with what I entered. I surely wish that I could have been closer, but it wasn't my day.
Thanks to you and the rest of the CC for your extra effort and time.
Keep up the good work and have fun!

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

I like the clarity of focus on the feathers of the bird, but I must say that I find the DOF distracting. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop to reduce the amount of blurred green would make the impact of the bird stronger.

Otherwise, I like the impact of the shot. The bird is well captured.

Love the 'hide' effect from the foreground foliage. You mkight have pushed the re-sizing a touch too far? And yes, I know how difficult it is to get shots like this!

Excellent shallow DOF! This shot would also be ideal for the fauna challenge!

NICE SHOT!!! The blurred leaves up front add a lot to the feel of the shot. Almost as if you're hiding. I feel the picture still lacks some sharpne to be considered "perfect" but it's about as close as you can get. - 9

Nice Shot. I think maybe if you cropped a little more of the forground out, it would draw more focs on the Bird. Not strongly weather related...

great bird pose, digital zooms are unfortunate, I know I tried it.
