Biography: My name is Chris Davinroy and I live in Illinois, just outside of St. Louis. In fact, on a good day, I can see the Arch from my roof. I am currently 31 years old, have two boys (7 and 4), and am divorced. I currently work at an auto dealer and have my own business, so I keep busy.

I am an amateur photographer with a litle experience. I have basically been a point-n-shooter with the standard 35-80mm lens on my Minolta 3Xi 35mm that I have owned for about 10 years. I take very nice photos with the right film (it hates Kodak) and have been commented as "better than the professional" at my sister's wedding.

I have recently purchased a Sony DCS-F717. It should arrive here on 4.14 or 4.15. I am very anxious to get it. I have used a number of digital cameras, but have never owned one. Partially because of the advancing technology, expense, and the slow processing. I chose this camera solely because it was mid-range priced with a shutter that is unbelieveable.

I have used cameras where the shutter stays open as long as it is recording causing a major blur. The first digital that I used was my Dad's Sony Mavica (the one that saves to a floppy). I've taken some very good shots with that one, and my favorite is of their cat - wonderful detail.

Well, here we go. This site is supposed to challenge me to take better pictures and learn a few things to boot. I do appreciate all comments whether positive or negative. I want to become the best that I can.

4.21.03 - Had to take myself off the camera list for the f717 - mailman says he delivered it here on 4.12.03, but I still don't have it. Funny how uninsured things disappear from your porch when other large purchases don't. Just sitting back waiting for something to happen, should have an answer in 2 or 3 more weeks. I WANT MY CAMERA!!!!!!

Even though I am so busy, I am definitely easy to get in touch with.

Feel free to drop me a line.
Signature: I firmly believe that experience is the best teacher............ As long as it is someone else's experience first. :-)
