Challenge: Color (Classic Editing)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 4300
Location: Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park.
Date: Apr 1, 2003
Galleries: Snapshot, Nature
Date Uploaded: Apr 1, 2003

Me and husband went to Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park to shoot some colorful butterfly, but ended up shooting fish in the pond there. The water wasn't that clear so there's a little white particles floating. After level and contrast adjustment, this is the result!

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Adrianna...

Your choice for a 'color' subject is beautiful :) The color is vibrant and definitely plays a major role in this photograph. I also like the way the leaves at the top add a little framing to the photograph. The 'randomness' of the fish in the pond seems to create a simple and very effective image.

I can't offer any suggestions for improvement on this image... I think it's perfect the way it is :)

Keep up the good work :)

These colours are wild (literally)! What is the purpose of the white border?

I like the border effect -- I'd have probably tried lightening or blurring the outer part, but maybe for for PC... I'm concerned those coins might be toxic to the koi.

nice image.... just musing: what if you had used a slow shutter speed to show the motion/color streaks of the fish? Just an idea as I look at it.

Nice capture. Too bad you couldnt have the yellow oneclose to the center for a good focal point.

Fantastic shot! Those fish are so colorful. It was a good idea to get some of those leaves into the image as well, the green freshens the whole photo up. And the border is choice!

Nice colors. I find the boarder to be a little distracting, as it cuts through a couple of fish. Maybe if you cropped it differently on the right the boarder would look better. It looks a little uneven too (more space on the right). (8)

Why the white border line?

Would have looked better with a bit of cropping & without the border. Lovely colorful fish.

Lose the frame and you have a great shot.

all I could think of was Dr. Seuss "one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" ;)

I like how you did your border too!

Nice shot. Don't care for the white line around it though

Very cool, but how'd you get the frame to be an extension of your picture? I like the effect it adds

Good shot, however, the border seems unnecessary and distracting.

Good grief, where's the frying pan? compsition is perfect, visual impact is great, focus is fine, your framing is an excellent choice, very different indeed.

It might be better without the border. Great shot of the fish, nice and colorful.

Why the border? I feel it\'s an unnecessary addition to what is essentially quite a nice picture.
