ouch! There are no tacks in this image. ;) Ouch again! The colors and composition in the image are great. I would have liked the finger to be more in focus - but its very close. 8 for making it look like you stuck a tack through your nail. If you really did, I know a doctor that can help with that... :)

Very strong image. I like the simle background, the lighting, the colors, and the fact that the strongest texture in the thumb (or finger) is in focus. I would be a little happier with the image if the focus on the tack were similarly tack sharp. I suppose some of the softness the tack appears to have may be from translucence or reflective surfaces, but its top and left edges do not look sharp. Probably easy to fix using sharpening software.

This is a great image, although I view the challenge as Plural, more than one tack.
