This image should have finished much higher. It remains a very good study.

Very Gwen Stefani. Interesting use of desat, I might have switched the two, but it is still good. :o)

I had you in my 6's, but I can't leave you there. This unusual self portrait has an irresistible charm. It's an OK photograph, yet it's a terrific portrait, I guess because of the sum of all its parts ... the absurd background, the great hat, your quirky pose (hope I haven't offended you), and the desat treatment. Original and memorable. 7. No, one more look; it really IS irresistible, so 8.

Very pretty lady and nice expression. Unfortunately, at least for me, the background way overpowers the wonderful tones and detail of you. I like the composition also, 7

Funky photo, but I just wish there was more focus on the eyes. 7

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

excellent work! what fun! the composition, expression, and colors all work well together. too bad about the hat taking the brunt of the lighting, because the range of tonalities elsewhere are wonderful.

Very nice! I really like this. The photo is pretty good too. The wrinkles and seam in the hat are a minor distraction, but really quite nice. Well done!

This is just great! The most hideous pattern in the BG but adds to the theme perfectly. I like how your eye is in the middle of the pic and that is the first thing you look at. well done

I really like the bw imposed on the color. The eyes seem a tad OOF, and to me, the eyes are the MOST important focus point in a portrait. I also know how hard that is to accomplish in a self-portrait... 8

Returning for comment:
What a plesing tilt, what a cool expression and the sailor's hat. All these things give this image that good old time feel and the colorful background enforces the general effect which is on the lighter side. The eye stare is appealing and the dark lips adds that wild zest to give this image that sexy tinge. I am very impressed. Bumping up.

I think the background is a little bit distracting.

This one really caught my eye. The tilt of your head, the large eyes, the beautiful lips...I'm not sure what it was, but I had to stop and study this one. Its unusual to selectively color a background, and that too, is quite interesting. The only concern I have is the loss of detail in the highligts, but even that is not too bad. Very nice image. <9>
