I don't want to turn this into a thread, or anything of the sort, but i think that this comment is out of line. If it was a joke, it's not funny, and if it wasn't, you're a jerk.

Wow Joey--I've been meaning to drop you a comment on this. The funny thing was that this was the first challenge I didn't recognize you in your shot! Great title and great shot all around. Congrat's on 21. I am sure you will have a ribbon any challenge now.

Looks like Moodville's handiwork. Very cool composition, and good use of color on the eye- but wouldn't this be Ecliptic GREEN?

this is very beautiful.
well taken but what i think is most imporatant is that
it has a lot of emotion and character, which is what i think a self-portrait should be about.

Nice chiaroscuro with the black and white. The white carpet with the black hair, and white face against the black hair with the bit of green. Interesting representation, looks a tad out of focus.

Super! I think this is sure to be in the top ten, if not a ribbon.

this one was all about the hair, nicely done. desaturation and green eye draws my focus. nice tight crop, leaving part of the head out was nice touch. is that carpet?

powerful image but the green eye.....why?..... it ruins an otherwise very fluid an thoughtful B&W image

u have a complette grayscale so why the green eye it is of corse your choise but i think it was a bad move.

wrecked it for me still i will give it to u for the great potential of the image

Returning for comment. This is very nice! A bit soft maybe, but I really like it overall. One thing I might suggest is cropping the right so the shot ends to the right of the block of hair crossing your mouth, and then maybe the carpet area as well. Try it. I think it really further accentuates your eyes and the parts of your face that are showing through. Bumping up.

I love this. I hide my face behind my hair. My only comment would be that I wish we could see your other eye just as clearly (and greenly...)

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image to try to figure out what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

if the art of portraiture is to capture the essence of the individual, i would have to believe that you have succeeded. otherwise, i guess you would have called this, "I Wish". so, what have you done to tell me who you are? you are at peace with yourself, revealing only what you want, but hiding in a way that doesn't say you're hiding. while you come across as a non-conformist, you subtly like to control every variable in a situation. you also seem to enjoy chaos, but being ever mindful to make sure that there is always a point of order to fall back on (or at least a safe starting point). i really believe this is exactly the image you wanted it to be. thanks for sharing. 9 from me.

This is a very cool shot. I absolutely love the dark feel to it. The strands of hair on the ground add alot of interest . You seem to be about as camera shy as I am. :-) This is a great way to take a SP and still show us something about yourself without exposing who you really are.

I love the light and the softness. The green is an unexpected surprise. I didn't notice it at first but it looks great!

This image borders on the graphical arts border. It is a great concept and some will love the rich treatment of the eyes while others will dismiss it as a ps effect. Being a graphical artist, the image has appeal for me. Bumping up on cool composition.

A thoughtful and emotive entry, enhanced by the selective desaturation. It really works well here. I offer you a 7.

Returning for comment. Good use of selective saturation here with the eyes. Including less of the foreground might have helped the impact. Good capture of facial expression. I would have scored this a point higher if there was more face showing than hair. Overall, a decent shot. Good luck in the challenge.

Love the selective desatration here. Good contrast put not too sure about the lighter grey that I think is a carpet. All in all good photo.

This is bold, and it works for me. One of the few "obscured face" images that I really like (don't take that the wrong way; I'm sure your face is perfectly lovely). What I mean is this idea works because it's an artistic statement and not just a disguise. 7.

The position of the subject is a bit disturbing... like the desat, it works well to draw viewer to the eyes

One of my favorites. Love the arrangement of your hair, the fact that it's a different pose, the near edge of the photo going a soft and the overall mood of the shot.

The green eye is cool, adds a bit of interest and mystery, but to me it's in the composition and the hair over the face.

I really like this. I think if you cropped out the very bottom white area it would be a 10. That area takes the eye away from the face framed by your hair.
