I really enjoyed the symetry of this picture and chose it as my best for that reason.

Thanks PETRAKKA, This picture is kind of a landmark for me. This is a picture of my Girlfriend HANAE she is also a member here and shoots with a little Contax SL300R. This was our first Photo-date, I had explained to her that I was a member of this site and needed a picture to enter for the best of 2004. We decided to go to the temple for some enlightenment and I took my TOKAI guitar along for a song.. That guitar has since been stolen from my house along with 6 other guitars and various bits n pieces but our love still lives on stronger than ever.

After looking at your work it makes me very proud you enjoy this shot as much as I, you are a fine photographer. Thank you very much.

Man I look at this photo a lot. This is probably one of my favorites I've seen on this site, I wish I could double mark it there. Man it's good.

you were robbed! this is such an amazing photo (even with the distracting border.) of course, a 6.249 score is nothing to be ashamed of, I just wish your originality and creativity had been rewarded with a higher score.

Yellow border disturbing. No other issues. Is thins in China? 8

Excellent composition, great light. Having her face shrouded in hair and the position of her hands certainly lends quirkiness and mystery to this shot. This should be an album cover. The yellow border line feels wholly unnecessary.

Absolutely excellent use of this architectural detail to create frames within the image for the girl and the guitar. The composition just shouts out and the image is highly creative to boot. My only criticism would be of the yellow within the border since it doesn't echo a colour from within the image I find it somewhat glaring. If you prefer a colour rather than grey or white, I'd try the green from the guitar instead. 8

Great photojournalism style shot. Makes me think of National Geographic particularly with the yellow and black border. A nice example of where a border can help. I like the juxtaposition here. Nice use of strong diagonal line in the shot (girl to guitar). 9

what an interesting composition you've delivered here. there really seems to be more of a story to this. i hope this isn't getting overlooked in this super-sized challenge, and that you are getting good feedback. i normally don't care one way or another about borders, but this does seem to be a bit of a distraction; but that's just my opinion. thanks for sharing. good luck with this, and all the challenges yet to come!

This is cool. I wonder your purpose for the hair covering the face. Nice comp and colors. Would make a cool photo inside and album

Beautiful tones. Very good composition. I sense tension and mystery. I think the yellow borderline does not fit the photo. -9

awesome composition. The framing of the girl and guitar is really visually appealing. I love how her hair masks her face. I don't care for the yellow border at all - it detracts from an otherwise excellent image, but I don't mind it enough to really penalize you for it - 9 from me!

Very well composed. The frame/border actually works against an otherwise excellent capture.

This is a very compelling image. I wish I could offer some specific advice or compliment, but I really can't. Oh yes, maybe the frame is not quite right. But otherwise, it's irresistible. 8.

Everything in its own box. :)
Works well, I like the idea and setup (not that it necessarily is setup).
What I don't like is the yellow line in the border, it pulls the eye out of the photo. The scene might also work better with more shadows from a lightsource at the side.

Wonderful composition. This image makes me want to come back later when I've had a little more sleep just to sit, and look, and think about it. That's enough to get you a ten. Hopefully I'll come up with a more insightful comment when I've had that sleep :P.
