Mary's comment below is one I would double-click. Perhaps it's because I learned so many bad habits from my trial-and-error introduction to photography, but I've always found clipping in the highlights--when handled like they are here--to be a really compelling artistic choice. Pure white isn't necessarily the absence of detail. It's also the negative space into which the viewer gets to fill in their own interpretive insights. :-)
