"Batteries" was screaming something very weird to me!

[Sep. 16th, 2025 06:53:46 AM]

I am very surprised at the reception I have received so far with my entry. I wasn't planning on entering this challenge as I was getting ready for a trip and hadn't given it any thought. With 2 days before the entry date an idea came into my mind. I'll keep it short. Thank goodness for Amazon! They were able to ship non toxic water soluble body paint overnight! I took a good many test shots to get things the way I wanted it and some minor editing. It was the title that had come to me that inspired the composition and how to express it with the batteries. When I showed it to my wife she just gave me a look (all married men are familiar with "the look"!! I submitted it the last day of entry thinking at least it would be fun to read the comments. Thank you for your comments I truly appreciate the response. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have with regards to the set up.

Thanks Lev,
Some advice. Don’t ever try to superglue batteries to your head!!! Just kidding. I used a special adhesive tape similar to duct tape. I used insulated wire under the batteries on the tape to make a headband and I tied the tape around my head. I was able to fit the headband by tying the ends of the wire tightly around my head in the back.

My goodness this is awesome. I’m sorry I didn’t vote, you would have had another 10. This is pretty much perfection. Creativity, lighting, makeup, all are wonderful.

WOOOOOOT!!! I knew this would be your top scoring photo. How brilliant to achieve a score over eight, and not one vote under five, of course how could you.

Brilliantly executed Larry, always love your ingenuity.
Now you know whenever your wife gives you that look, you have a winner 😂

A big congratulations!

You do go all out! I love this!

Wash that stuff off. The Tin Man had a reaction to it. :D

A more modern approach, perhaps. There was a lot of work put into this... hope it pays off.

Really cool piece. I'm guessing the photographer owed the subject a favor after this one...

What a brilliant take on this challenge. The body paint must have been a chore to wash off, but the result is worth it. My choice for blue.

Larry! I’m surprised you didn’t die after this, paint on skin is quite toxic if not washed off quickly, but I’m assuming you are still alive. This is absolutely brilliant and should probably be an advertisement of some type.

It could end up as one of your highest scoring photos, who knows, but some of your birds are pretty cool 😎

10 for sure and the blue!
