Had this idea in mind for a little while and had to wait for a break in the weather. Finally a day that wasn't raining or extremely overcast! ... but, the clouds created another challenge (blown highlights). Not crazy about the blownout lower right corner but I'm not hauling all that out to the horse pasture for a do-over. :-)

Hi Paul, thanks for asking. Basically it's just a 360 panoramic shot. Use software to put the 26 images together, then edit that result. For the drone use the photo/panoramic/sphere mode. Using a micro sd card on the drone the end result is 26 images stored in a folder on the card. Pull those over to your computer (the Fly App will show you a preview of it after capture). The hardest part is figuring out the best distance, height, and angle you need to position the camera to get what you're after. I'm not going to spoil all your "discovery" fun ... let me just say you'll be surprised at what it takes for this result. :-) Good luck!

Congrats, Barry! ...Incidentally, I'm about to pull the trigger on Mavic Air 2. Seems like it can be a ribbon-getter ))

The FCC states that there is a limit of 5 owners per any internet photo contest site. I think Paul snuck in before the final rule was written. Sorry Lev, but you're going to have to find something else to spend your money on. :-D I wonder if Robert is thinking the same. LOL

Absolutely. The skies are getting too crowded in DPCland. Here's an idea for you: get one of those SUBMERSIBLE drones and show us deepscapes :-)

Sorry guys, too late now, I am a member of your club whether you like it or not! On the other hand, I do like to fly over the ocean (at least, I did it a number of times with my Mavic Mini), so there is always a chance that my spanking new drone will become if not submerSIBLE, then at least submerGED (I hope not!).

I took my new Air 2 up for a spin first time today, and I must say I am really impressed. Stable as a rock in pretty windy conditions. Seamless connection at all times (I flew it up to about 600m away). My Mini would be whining, refusing to follow commands, losing connection, and trying to land. Did not look at the photos and videos yet.

Edit to correct - Dangit. I was thinking FAA, not sure why I typed FCC? Gah.
