Thanks to everyone who commented for the words of encouragement.
I created the main picture - the rooftop with street below, grass, hens, and, yes, ladder - about a month and a half ago. It's horizontal - just a bit of sky above the chimney and a bit of grass below the chickens. I did it for myself and had a great time coming up with it (base photo is the rooftop with street and ladder; I added the grass and chickens, scooted the ladder over, cleaned up the street, etc.).
When I saw the Book Cover challenge - archival AND extended - I knew I wanted to use it. I actually found more than one possible title along these lines, but this worked best for my purpose. Horizontal wouldn't do plus I wanted a clean place for the text, so I extended the sky and replaced the grass (extending the wall on the left) in order to have the space.
I did work hard on the text - style, placement, size, etc. - BUT I am soooo glad I already had the base picture done and had done the work for my own pleasure. I'd have been disappointed to finish just over 50% if I'd done all that work for the challenge LOL |

found this in the tiniest violin ..
it's an awesome book cover ..
love the colours and how vibrant it is ..
would definitely stand out on the shelves in any library .. or anywhere books are sold .. it really pulls me in .. xx
