Great shot but I would have thought plenty of room for some pedantry regarding the 'self' in self portrait :)

I wouldn't have noticed it's off-kilter had you not mentioned it and upon noticing, I think the angle is better than a flat horizon or baseline would have been.

Not too hard really, just told a fellow rider I was shooting pics of to hold my giant camera in his lap as he was sitting cross legged on the ground, and asked him to keep it pointed in this particular direction, and to simply hold down the button as I was in sight.

The fact is that with the 400 f/2.8mm and the 1D series bodies, the AF is just so darn good it's incredible, and the super fast shutter speed helps to nail every shot too. I did forget to tell him that his ONE JOB was to keep the horizon level like a good meat-tripod, but.. Oh well, it makes the shot more... dynamic.
