I would vote this a ten... in an different challenge topic. You're amazing at this thing!

This is stunningly gorgeous, Mary Ann!

This was second highest pick and a 9, Mary Ann. 21_F.gif mariuca's is a good comment, I think, in that the Impressionists didn't do that many still lifes (maybe pre-Impressionism which Monet kind of is to me) and when they did, they were much sparer. But I will diverge from her on the use of the filter which I find imminently suitable for this lavish display - the heavy drape, the ruffly blossoms, the nest tucked in among the pears, even the vase. I found it wonderfully successful.

Absolutely fantastic photo, Mary Ann. Highly under-appreciated. The obsession with meeting the challenge at DPC sometimes just goes too far and great work receives much too low scores. Pity that there is no longer emphasis on quality as in this very fine example.

Here less would have been more. Just the flowers remind of a Fantin Latour for instance. I do not think that for the impressionists the subject of a still life was of such mportance. A vase with flowers or a few apples in a proper light would have been enough.
As a still life photo I find the filter too much. With a standard editting would be so much nicer
