Ok, Sea Monkeys are incredibly difficult to photograph, if you've never done it, you should give it a try. Of course you need some sea monkeys first. They are very interesting to raise. This is the finest crop of sea monkeys we've ever had. To photograph you have to understand that they are very tiny, and are constantly frolicing about, darting here and there, looping around and in general not very cooperative about having their picture taken. Also the water tends to be pretty murky. A straight on clear shot was turning out pretty lacking of detail and unattractive. I played around with lighting angles and some photoshop to try and make it more interesting. The end product is kind of abstract, leaning towards the digital art realm, but it is a photo of live sea monkeys, and I find the shot interesting. I like the way the background (which is my reflector light on the other side of the "tank") looks, the colors and the silhouette of the "ship", plus, you can actually see the sea monkeys! Also in this shot, the sea monkeys kind of form "swirling" lines, as opposed to just scattered about. I used a reflector shop light, and a piece of plain white paper for lighting. The tank sits on the paper on a table, the light hand held behind the tank and the camera on tripod about 6 in. from the tank at even level. In ps-levels, curves, hue-sat and usm, no cropping, that's the actual framing of the shot. Anyways, I hope to raise an interest of sea monkeys and, thanks for checking out my pic.

Very cool shot. Has a very "outer world" feel to it with that background. I like it and LOVE the memories you brought to mind by bringing up Sea Monkeys again! LOL I can remember many many hours with my brother raising and watching these little guys.

Out of focus and the visible light bulb is just too much

Very grainy. The first thing my eye saw was the General Electric logo, and at first I was confused as to the connection to Bizarre Nature.

Good idea, but the main subject is too out of focus. I'd rather see the Sea Monkeys than the bulb.

Nice colors and effect! But would have tried to position the shot awayfrom the light bulb on the top as the logo is quite distracting. Other than that I think it's very nice, also noting that if you're shooting water it's not that clear. 6

I'm not asking that you agree with me, but IMO this doesn't meet the challenge.
