This is our 3 year old Great Dane Zoie, we call her Zoe-Zoe. :)

I couldn't decide if I needed to crop in on this or leave it full length with the emphasis on the face.

I decided to go with full length. I, like most times, will likely regret it but i'm sticking with it...for now :)

So glad to see this in the top 10. Truly thought it would finish higher. Zoe is adorable. And yes, full length for sure

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I really like this shot and wasn't surprised to see it finish in the top ten-congrats! Great Danes are so ridiculously gangly and long, it's no wonder that Marmaduke and Scooby-Doo were both GDs...they were meant to be immortalized in cartoons :-)

The tilt of the head is cute - she looks like she's trying to match the angles of the tiles. The eye contact is fabulous and amazed that at f2.8 you had enough dof so that the nose is in focus too; that kind of thing is huge here. The oof body emphasizes her height and helps emphasize the head.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the nearly-blown whites on her chest...they probably didn't blink in-camera but they're awfully close! Still, a minor nitpick for a very good image.

Hope this has been helpful,

Susan

Congrats on the TT. I like the full shot as it puts it all in perspective on such a big dog.

Nice portrait with a great DOF. Picture makes me wonder why the dog looks so guilty ^^ Sort of tells a story. 9

Gotta' love a cocked, curious head. Love the perspective; as a giant dog owner I know this is not exaggerating the size of the dog!
