A candid shot of my 90 year old Father-In-Law. We gave him this puzzle for his birthday (Dec. 23), and he was reminiscing, telling us stories that we have heard many, many times. This is his favorite picture of he and his wife, their engagement picture from 1946 just after he returned from WWII (Marines in the Pacific). She passed away 4 years ago and he is still grieving.

The shadows are a bit distracting, but I liked it just the same.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments and generous votes.

This is such a wonderful portrait. I actually really like the shadows because it gives it more warmth and reality. I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

Congratulations! I've had a photo made into a puzzle too -- I think that was a great present.

Nice image, the subject is nicely lit, but the shadow across the puzzle he is looking and pointing at is distracting.

You might want to consider going a little larger in size as well, maybe a 1000 pixels on the vertical.

From a sentimental person, lovely light and pleasing composition, the jigsaw puzzle is an excellent idea also.
