I don't believe You managed to everything on the tracks :)-
Must be some digital darkroom, editing etc involved I'm sure this is layering of one picture on other!!!

All people would benefit If You share Your methodology

Regards

I don't know why the overall vote was so low - I would have had this photo in the tops. I love the composition, imagery and simbolism. fantastic.

Don't quite get it, but i like it

I wish the elbow were further away from the right edge, the framing feels a bit odd to me. I need to get a strobe! :)
04/28/2002 11:33:00 AM
You'll have to tell us how you set up this shot -- it looks like two images superimposed. I'd also be interested in hearing how you acheived such a sharp arm effect.
04/28/2002 11:25:00 AM
I love the way you've done this shot.. the black and white makes is fantastic. Kudos on a good job.
04/28/2002 08:33:00 AM
Is this photoshopped?
Assuming it isn't its good, if it is then it will be disqualified so my vote doesn't matter. I like it though

Cropped a bit too tight at the top, I would have liked to seen the whole cigarette with a little more room to spare, however a very nice shot.

nice effect
04/26/2002 06:51:00 PM
interesting

It's kind of bizarre. I'm not sure I completely understand it, with the train tracks. It is well done.
04/25/2002 11:23:00 AM
great contrast, lighting.
04/25/2002 07:40:00 AM
Interesting.. I'd love to know how that was done. I like it.
04/24/2002 06:18:00 PM
How you do dat?? Nice effect.
04/24/2002 05:18:00 PM
Not sure I get the reference to the train tracks... But still, an nice shot.
04/24/2002 02:25:00 PM
how did you achieve this?? It has an intense message! Your choice of B&W is great!
04/24/2002 08:04:00 AM
very original. Smoking to dying? Creepy lighting.
04/23/2002 11:36:00 PM
Clever! But I found it a bit of a morbid subject
04/23/2002 11:00:00 PM
Great Work!
Impressive Idea!

This looks like a bad "Truth" ad. I don't like the transparency thing.
04/23/2002 10:15:00 PM
Interesting ............ Im trying to figure out what the meaning of it is.....
04/23/2002 09:37:00 PM
I feel somewhat haunted by this. Maybe it is the Virgin Suicides soundtrack playing in the background, but i am almost 'scared' to continue thinking, continue trying to find out what this means to me--afraid of what i'm going to find deep within myself. kudos.

Nice shot. Makes good B&W. Well caught!
04/23/2002 05:13:00 PM
I love these photos. Good job, everything is nice and clear. Great background! You might want to think about the patch. Cigarettes can kill.
04/23/2002 04:08:00 PM
Interesting
04/23/2002 09:22:00 AM
The technique on this shot is very good. The transistion concept eludes me. Hi marks for the shot though.
04/23/2002 08:45:00 AM
interesting execution but i just don't see what the transition is? is it that the cig has appeared in, or disappeared from your hand??
04/23/2002 06:25:00 AM
I really like this one in B/W, good job
04/23/2002 04:33:00 AM
Very interesting!
04/23/2002 04:19:00 AM
I was wondering who would try something like this. Glad someone did, I just didn't know how. It's pretty awesome.......bad habit.......good photo.
04/23/2002 01:38:00 AM
This kicks ass
04/22/2002 11:00:00 PM
hmm, very very awesome photography skills, the transition is not totally apparent to me, but i still like it
04/22/2002 10:24:00 AM
nice, how did you do it?
04/22/2002 08:03:00 AM
throwing a cig?
04/22/2002 07:58:00 AM
Very cool picture. Excellent execution!
04/22/2002 07:47:00 AM
Nice!
04/22/2002 07:25:00 AM
nice stop motion shot. Those things'll kill you you know..... Could have been a bit lower in the frame, then the top wouldn't have been clipped.
04/22/2002 07:09:00 AM
Nice use of shutter and black and white. The shot is surprisingly crisp. Are you lying on the railroad track here?

Good transition, but why on a railway track?
04/23/2002 03:38:00 PM
Very creative shot. Love the B&W, but can't see the "transition" value.
04/23/2002 02:17:00 PM
Cool photo, but I don't understand it. :( Leaves too much to the imagination. Did smoking lead to a train wreck? Did the photographer lose an arm to smoking on the tracks? Did smoking lead to a life on the tracks? Too many illogical, unanswered questions.

strobes are getting more and more popular - well timed and careful movem, ent - good work
