Seriously people?? Mid 6s?? I don't get it. I really thought this was a 5.2 shot. I entered it anyway.

I think you're all a little warped. :)

Either that, or I managed to tap into some warm memories. I know my mom and grandma always used the good dishes. And these are in fact my grandma's dishes, my great grandma's glasses, and my grandma's silver.

This is a snapshot at best. It wasn't taken for DPC, it simply was because I never bother taking a picture of the Thanksgiving table. And this was before half the food was out. I just grabbed the camera, didn't really aim, and took two shots. There's not way on earth that I would let my Thanksgiving dinner get cold, after cooking for 7 hours straight, just to get a shot for DPC! I make freeze my kids, and stick my husband in front of bulldozers, but I'm not messing with thanksgiving. :)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!

Indeed you did tap into some memories - days when the good dishes were taken out and used and then carefully packed away again. But that's not the only reason - this is a beautiful shot that is beautifully pped and doesn't look set-up - it looks like a table awaiting a family who will laugh and share and enjoy eating off of the special dishes. Congratulations vawendy and thanks for the memories.

Congrats on the red. Snapshot or not, the way you presented the image brings about that sentimental feel...
Nice job.

When one has as many ribbons as you, I guess you can question getting this one... :P
As Robert remarked it evoked feelings of days years gone by for me. The highlights and blown areas are perfect when viewed in the light of a faded 'memory'. 8.

A likely blue. Very nice table, set for a party, and not just any feast. Photographically speaking the hard lightworks well, but does result in some blown highlights on glasses, and most unfortunatly, the right chair.

Has a vawendy style. Like the antique feel and the vignetting.

Very elegant setup. I'm not a fan of the white vignette, but the rest is nice.

a little too much pp and vignetting for me. Still essentially a nice shot, like the sepia.
