The figure is one of 100 similar cast metal statues that collectively form a work of art called 'Another Place' by Antony Gormley.
This was my first visit to this location after several years of getting round to it.

Really cool subject and scene. It made it even cooler to know that it's a statue as part of multiples in the area, beautiful. I wish they had them on the beaches in Cali!
Congrats. You did much better than my entry for June (serves me right for entering a blurry photo!) one of my favourite go to locations when I am visiting my parents (they live in Crosby) very well done on the ribbon
This might just be the winner this month. A very, very intriguing work. I love how there are NO foot prints or any evidence whatsoever on how this sentinel has arrived in it's position of being the watchman. It appears he is covered in mud or dried dirt. Makes it that much more interesting to think about.
I think this is a statue, and it's rare that I'm impressed by a photo of a statue, but this has emotion to it. Something about the solitary figure, the vast water, the beautiful light, the rippling sand ... almost apocalyptic in feel.
Wonderful image lovely tones and composition i like how the sand and the clouds give effect too the image i wish i had this creativity ..Well done ..bump this up 10 from me
