I'm sure that you've guessed. My son and the lap dog are... lying down. The chair and the other dog are... rightside up and flipped.

I had fun with this.

Originally, I was going to have two humans. I asked Young Son to lie down in the chair... to get it all set up for when another human happened by to model for me.

The dogs kept getting in the way! So, inspiration hit... And the rest is history.

I love DPC... even if the votes are low.

After a while of coming back and looking at this.. catching my own image "by surprise", I found myself believing that the guy was upright and the rug and that weird globe object (an antique container full of rocks from my Daddy's travels and a few more) were... fakely added. The second dog... extremely out of place and overly sharpened were faked... perhaps a cutout. Is he a "cut out" and pasted there? But... what of the reflection of him in the chair?

Oh golly. She believes her own lie.

*sigh*

In fact, it's all real, as shot and flipped 180 degrees.

I spent a fortune in doggie treats to get the lower right dog on chair to sit still for the long exposure for the light.

He's a good dog. *smile*

Oh. And the kid is, too! *smile again*

During Voting:
Interesting statistics ... First 102 votes averaged: 7.3431

All votes (8) received the last day of the challenge averaged: 5.25

I'm not sure exactly what it means... but it does sound interesting to me.

*sigh*

Post challenge: YEEEEEEEEEhaw!!

Just for a bit of the minutely uninteresting interesting info: (LOL) Young Son was diligently trying to keep his head off of the floor in a natural way... so we propped it up with a pound bag of M&Ms.

Yeah. M&Ms rock for photography. :D

And for model treats. (Humans. Not dogs. They got real doggy treats. I tried them on the human, but... Nuthin'
*sigh* )

Perhaps this will help a bit for the Rotationally Challenged. :)

You executed a very difficult shot, in the parameters of the challenge, in that it is what might be expected, yet much better than expected. for that, congrats!

Wow! Great job Lydia! I have to look at this on my iPad, and turn it upside down to be able to really see it "correctly". Even once I look at it from the real camera angle, it still rolls the eye, once I turn the iPad back. You definitely deserve the blue on this one. I love it!

The shorts pulling up the thighs were a dead giveaway as to where the gravity pulls. The basket at the feet is a wonderful addition and that priceless look on the chair dog's face!!

I absolutely love this! I can see how you accomplished this but I it still makes me do double takes just looking at it:-) Love that dog sitting on the chair looking straight at us. Great attention to details here from the rugs to the basket and jar on the 'opposite' floors:-) Great job, hope to see this in the top 5.
