I've done a couple of maternity shoots for friends. I've looked quite a lot on the web for ideas, but would like to open it up here for ideas as well.

I have a shoot tomorrow with a really cute couple and close friends of the family . They are like adopted kids for us. This is the first time I've convinced the mom-to-be to let me work in some exposed "belly" shots. (I had to promise some PS work for the stretch marks!) If you have some ideas, please share them.

One of the things I'm aiming for will be portraits with them smiling. I'm guilty of it too, but it seems so many maternity shots are of the contemplative, moody sort. I like those, but I want some that really show the joy of the special time as well. Any other thoughts, ideas, or photos to share?

I have another of my wife wearing a white dress shirt buttoned once above the belly. She is cradling her belly in her hands and looking down. I don't have access to it right now. There are many good maternity shots by other photogs here... Much better than mine.

This is my neice and I did this one in 11x14 and framed it for her as a gift. She has it hanging in her nursery. I thought this would be nice to hand down to her daughter someday.

go to pbase.com and do a search for pregnancy, you can get some ideas there too.

Yep, I've already done that. I wish the search feature here worked also.
