Again thanks for all the congrats. I start Monday but may be going in today for some training. I am actually taking over 2 peoples positions and one is a very sick pregnant girl. If she is up to it today, I will go in for a while today.

I am so excited I could hardly sleep last night. I have so many ideas going through my head. The women who hired me has only recently bought the paper. They don't have a website at all so I get to start from scratch on it. That's the first project I will be doing.

Way to go Bren... Seems too much like karma to see you mention a salon in your OP here and I'm gonna be showing in a salon soon. Some kinda sign...

Congrats Brenb, sounds great. Maybe it's just that little bit of extra incentive needed to kick the sot weed habit. I wish you luck in both endeavors.

Bear is just jealous cause you get to schmooze with the girls and he doesn't. :) That's a great emoticon and thanks for the kisses.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes and congrats. I am floating around on cloud 9 not only from getting the job but the whisky and cokes too. :)

Stick with the whiskey to celebrate- you don't need a coke habit! That is not until you are the editor. Just kidding.

That sounds fantastic. Its nice to here somebody being excited about a job for reasons other than or in addition to money.

Woohoo!!!! I got it! She offered and I jumped on it. It is exactly what I thought too. I will be doing some photography, some web designing, and some graphics for ad's in the paper. It's a job where I will be able to do all the things I love to do. One big plus also is it's less than 5 mins. from my home so no travel time. The hardest part is going to be to quit smoking. :) They don't allow smoking there at all. I have really been wanting to quit again so this will make me. I quit for 7 months about a year ago and then like a dumb a$$ I started back.

They also own a Bistro where they cater to special events and I will be helping with and also photographing these for the paper. I will be able to do some selling of prints to the people attending these events with all this money being mine.

In case you can't tell, I am soooooooo excited about this. I start on Monday. Woohoo!!! Off to fix me whiskey and coke to celebrate.

I have an interview with a local paper in 2 hours. From what I understand it will be for a combination photographer, graphics, and web designing. It's just a small local paper, but a job I think I would really enjoy. She has already seen my work and said she was very impressed so now I just have to sell myself. I have been self employed for 20+ years so I haven't been on an interview since then. I am not really nervous but more anxious.

I am in the process of getting my hair license back and plan on evenually opening a small salon here but with this coming along I may just put that on hold.

Wish me luck and send me some positive vibes. :)
