Greetings all,

Just a bit of curiosity here. What do you drive for a daily vehicle?

My curiosity is based on my profession: Auto shop owner and Master Auto Technician. Personally, I drive a 1986 Toyota Camry with 243,000 miles on it, and my wife is the original owner of her 1986 Camry with 156,000 miles. (I am smart - I know where to get good used parts!! LOL ) Actually mine is well-maintained, ready to be driven anywhere at any time and recently went to Arizona with it (from CA), over the mountains & through the heat of the desert, A/C on & no problems.

So what do the rest of the gurus here drive?

I drive a 2002 Ford Focus. It's a fun car, and holds 2 car seat. Cruises at warp 8 easily.

My previous ride was a souped up 1990 Honda CRX Si. Holy smokes would that car handle, and it was pretty quick too (especially with the supercharged Acura motor in it) ;-)

I had a '85 camry, gave it to my sister, she got it up to 165K mi before the floor rusted out. Road salt is mean stuff.

I drive a Lexus IS 300. I absolutely love it. I bought it when I wrecked my BMW 525i.

2004 Honda Civic 2 Door LX, ~ 14500 miles. Its a great car, but I sometimes feel depressed knowing that every other car on the road is faster and more powerful than mine, even though I added a spoiler and fog lamps to make it "feel" faster = (

Used to drive my parents' 1994 Mustang GT. I miss horsepower.

I used to have a 12 year old BMW 525i but it died on the road, threw a timing belt OUCH end of car so I went to buy a little town hopper thing to get me around.... I came home with a Black 1990 Nissan Skyline GTS-T and had a bit of extra cash left over to buy some really nice rimms for it. You all know the model Skyline, it's the really cool looking one that was in Gran Tourismo for Play Station 1, I loved that game and I always used a Skyline, now i got the real deal and I love it. I prefer older cars they just seem more solid. This thing MOVES FAST and i do mean FAST and the girls seem to like it too, I need all the help I can get there *winks*

For 12 years, I've been driving a 1992 Jeep Eagle Summit - it's great, gets super milage and you can fit anything in it. I brought my new dryer home in it and a huge desk I bought at a sale. It's actually made by Mitsubishi and is like a compact mini van with four wheel drive. The whole back seat comes out or rolls forward. After 12 trouble free years I hope it lasts forever!

You can always drop in a bigger motor and/or add a supercharger, racing exhaust and intake, maybe some nitrous oxide. You should be able to get 250+ ponies under the hood of that thing.

The family/business vehicle is a 2002 Yukon XL with 35,000 miles. Formerly known as a damn SUBURBAN from GMC...it will always be a suburban to me! Hauls the 14ft trailer (mobile office) from NY to MI or IL or KS (or where ever I decide next) with ease & has lots of room for the kids & lugguage. The 3 kids would kill each other on long trips if they didn't have the 3rd row of seating ;) and we also use it to alternate driving/napping between us when we make straight run throughs. (almost every time) Guess who usually gets the 1am-6am shift ;) But I prefer it that way....haul ass with the trailers & make good time with limited potty stops! LOL
I LOVE MY TRUCK! (yeah yeah, I know, it's an "SUV"...but it's a work truck to me ;)

Hubby puts over 100 miles a day on his older Chevy Blazer driving from Long Island to Brooklyn every day for work. Can ya tell we favor GMC? lol

I was just thinking the same thing. I count 9 VW drivers including me ('96 Jetta - has 120k miles and still runs great).
