I like the way you think cause there are some people like to keep their options open but they don't think much about the teams that might be too late for them to have a complete team
And that idea of merging could really give a chance to many team members to participate in the DPL. |
haha. Thanks. When I set my mind to something, I can sometimes move mountains. It's just too bad I rarely have the energy to set my mind to something. Much to the dismay of some people on this site too, I'm sure. |

Some real good advice in here!
To all the team captains who have yet to finalize, it's time to scramble or else some of you are going to be very disappointed. You need to merge!! get into contact with other captains and become one.
There is still plenty of free agents to top your team up with. By the looks of things we will only have the 48 teams, so some of the newly formed teams will miss out.
Only 31 hours to go.

It's too bad that DPL Season 2 took so long to materialize. It looks like it's already doing wonders for this website in bringing out so many of the "old crowd" from the woodwork and bringing everybody together in a warm and fuzzy way. :)

Warm and Fuzzy way seems to be the norm at the moment! even the trash talkin thread is lame!
Maybe things will start to change when the season starts proper and we see a few tempers fray with the competition pressure :) |

Is any one else looking at the teams full of new shooters thinking that they may blitz the competition, as with a low or no seed average to go off they will be placed in the bottom division. They are some what of an unknown.

I wonder how many people realize that the percentile cap was probably set too high. Case in point, Team X Factor was able to assemble 10 members with a combine total of 102 ribbons, which pretty much makes them the Ribbon Hogs Partie Trois.

What was the percentile cap? I didn't know there was one. Aren't the higher ranked teams playing in the same division or league?
I'm not sure how it's being run actually. |

18 hours to go...
5 more teams need to finalize and there are 5 teams with 4 members or more. If the smaller teams merge with the larger ones, only 7 more participants have to be recruited from a list of 117 free agents.
I'm optimistic! |

It is capped, perhaps too high but really does it matter? None of us complain when our footy team blitzes the competition, but it does make the others work harder

We on Team Arabesque have 10 members with 116 ribbons. 89 of those ribbons are in the hands of 3 players; Judi, Doc, and Ursula. But Doc, for example, hasn't ribboned in the last year, and Ursula only once since 2007; so total ribbons can be deceptive as far as calculated averages go. We were nowhere NEAR the cap.
The cap is calculated on current rankings (as it should be), not lifetime rankings.
What I find interesting is that many of us would LOVE to see two sets of stats: lifetime stats (what we have now) and quarterly, or even monthly, stats (more like what they used to calculate the cap). That's how we do it in our game-playing league. I'm a "ribbon hog" in yahoo spades, I been playing in the league (eliters.com) for 10 years, and very few people have a chance of catching me or the couple people ahead of me. But in the quarterly stats, it's a new game every 3 months, and that keeps interest up.

Not me! My level of ineptitude (suckiness) has been rising dramatically over the last year or two. I need those earlier high scores. (Actually my talent has not gone down, the voters are getting better at judging pictures. I applied for Team Suck, but they said I was over qualified... (Not actually true, I never asked, but I do feel over qualifed for anything like that.)
OK, the quarterly thing even sounds good to me...
