Pushing a 5.3 now. I agree, more comments would be helpful especially in a challenge like this. I left quite a few and will try for more tomorrow.
edit- did I happen to hit yours tonight penny?

I seem to be garnering some views, so I guess that's good. My score has risen somewhat to where I'm fine with it off the low of 4.4 last night. Now I'm just hoping for more comments beyond "nice!" |

Theyyyyyyy....hate it! They really reeeeeeallly hate it! Who knows could be my lowest scoring entry ever. With that said...I really like it a lot so there! :P
I have a couple positive and complimentary comments though so the small group of voters who seem to be "getting this challenge" mean more to me than those treating it once again as an eye candy free study. Some great entries in there that hit the target, but a lot that don't belong in this challenge IMO.
Anyway, I don't expect to be too far off from the brown, and rather than get bummed out over it I think I'll just relax and embrace it. My self expression or likes is more important to me in the end. I've always felt that way about my photographs, but oddly enough that feeling has grown and intensified since I began submitting to challenges. I enjoy the feedback, I do enjoy beating my previous high scores, but I've learned not to take that too seriously and just enjoy the interaction and community here along with the diverse opinions and feedback.
So to those that hate my image...thanks....I needed that! :)

someone just handed me a two.
If it wasnt for all those random 1s and 2s I am getting I think my score would have been much higher than it is right now. I think this challenge is a bit dangerous because youre going to have those who dont get/like modern/contemporary art.

This is really a strange challenge. Very odd seeing the dead guy reporting a 6+ and Doc Sneezy in the 4's.
I had a look over the entries after rollover and I saw a lot I liked. I'll probably start voting over lunchtime today. I anticipate a very high average cast for me.

I agree - I have given out forty eight 7+ scores (even though my average cast seems a tad low at 5.1042) - I think at least 7 of those might be images that would make it into the top 20 of a 'normal' Free Study - as such I doubt they're picking up many low scores in this challenge. |

I find it interesting to see a Photography site grappling or confronted with the concepts of Art, head-on for the first time. Great irony, here. |
