I did not start with the original for this. I had used CS2 to adjust the original a couple of years ago. For this Topaz version, I started with the adjusted JPG.

You don't have to comment on these because you've already seen one. I didn't like how the edit of this one turned out:
so I thought I would give the Topaz Clean a try just to see what would happen. I think I like it!

It has been suggested by several of you that I should have saved this for the FS, so I am hiding it for now while I think about that.

I don't know if it's proper to post this here, but this is a Topaz image I entered in Best of 2008. It only got a 5.5. Actually, I was amazed at the way Topaz changed this picture which I took in Taipei last summer with a Sony pocket camera (DSC-W300). Some people complained about the halo, but as you can see some of the "halo" is actually part of the original image! Personally I like the contrast between the exaggerated Topaz clouds and the sharp lines in the building.
This is the original. It's very "flat," really lacks any kind of drama, and many of the building details are difficult to make out.
To me, the Topaz version looked so good that I got a mounted 11' x 14" print of it and I now have it on the wall in my office. The print is very easy on the eyes, no noise and lots of detail. Here's a link to a somewhat reduced version of the file I sent to WHCC for the print.

I thought I would add to this thread. These two entries has Topaz elements to them.
The first one is my latest entry for the Grunge challenge.
Basically used the clarity preset a couple of times on the field and some on his clothes and gloves. Also the simplify preset on his skin.
The second was my entry for the Free Study
Same as I always seem to do Clarity preset on the details like the bench, dress, hair etc and simplify preset on the skin.
I might add I will play with the opacity in layers to adjust so its not overdone.

Here's my recent entry done up with Topaz. I love how it brought out the details and texture (and this was validated during voting).
