Since you won your bet with yourself, what's the payoff? Wanna send me some (especially if cash or chocolate ) in exchange for a vote to validate? (j/k)

Lea: don't minimize what you and your husband are doing. You're there for your kids, you're there for each other. You could stop right there and be doing more good in the world than a whole lot of people. That you're doing it under serious financial constraints adds to it. |
What he said.
Congrats on the remarkable image, Jeff. |

My new job starts officially on Monday. I have spent many hours getting my new kitchen set up and the menus and recipes are ready. I just wanted to share one photo, as I have never used a brand new stove before. Isn't this the most beautiful stove you have ever seen?

Thanks. Not too remarkable, but fun, anyway. :) And now validated!

It's the same poster it was before validation but it is now climbing. It still is in the range that I thought it would be, might not get the brown but it will be close.

Hello TSers,
Well, Max just left and OMG is the place ever quiet all of a sudden! We had an absolute blast during the three days he was here at Chateau Snaffles. Lily and even Druli came to like him and approach him for scratches and pats.
And of course we took photos. Shot the Thursday he arrived in the Limerick Forest on the boardwalk, Friday we got together with Ray for a bit, then shot in Merrickville. Saturday we had a blast shooting with ralph and stayed for supper with him and his family. Got home late, but RayEthier gave us a cheery wake-up call just after 8 am, so we met with him, went shooting, then went to his place to see if we (or at least Max) could help him with his CS3.
Then, sadly, we got home and it was time for Max to leave, so he finished getting his stuff together, said goodbye, climbed into his truck and drove off into the setting sun. What an absolutely wonderful, patient, understanding, empathetic and strong-spirited man he is.
Oh yeah, he can take a good picture too! :-)
...oh btw, whatever you do, don't believe a word he says about my car and an asparagus stand...

Let me start out by saying that you will most definitely have a GREAT time if you ever get the chance to visit with Susan. Not to mention that lots of things will just sort of just happen
while you're there. I will only speak to the aforementioned asparagus stand for now because I have Ray to corroborate my story.
We, Susan, Ray, and myself were heading out to shoot today. Susan and I had had a conversation the previous day about likes and dislikes pertaining to foods and we got around to
vegetables and the fact that I/we eat a lot of asparagus in our house. Susan was very happy to hear this and offered to take me to a fresh asparagus stand the next morning on our way to
go shooting with Ray. When we finally came upon said stand Susan was so excited, she pulled up, stopped, and jumped out of her car. Now Ray was following us and had pulled in behind
and looked on in surprise that we had just made an unscheduled stop. I answered his query while I was exiting the car and closing the door. All of a sudden, Ray's eyes got very large as
he watched Susan's car start to roll away down the hill, it would appear that my chauffeur forgot to pull on her emergency brake. Ray yelled "UMMMMMM...HER CAR'S ROLLING AWAY!!!" to which
I replied "SHIT" and a short chase ensued. I caught up to the car really fast as it was moving slow and jumped inside and engaged the emergency brake.
When I went over to get some asparagus, Susan was looking in the fridge where it's kept and I asked her if she was watching things unfold and she said that she was and when she saw that I
had things under control because she saw me jump into the car she went back about her business.
What a trusting soul. You too can have adventures like this just by visiting Susan :)
We had a blast :)
Thank you Susan I had a most wonderful time and I look forward to doing it again sometime soon :) Even chasing your car again if I have to :)
MAX!

Do you like taking pictures just for the sake of taking pictures?
Is your end goal to have lots and lots of DPC ribbons?
Do you find photography is a good way to get yourself out and about to see things?
Do you enjoy viewing the slightly off-kilter, unusual photo now and then?
If you answered yes to all but Question #2, you may be a good fit for Team Suck. This is not to say that Team Suckers don't ribbon at DPC - they do. But it's not a huge goal in general.
If you're still interested (and have read through enough of this current thread to know that we're basically nuts, but in a good way!) then petition our Fearless Leader (and you need to figure out who that is) and he'll assign you a task. |

I sent an email to enquire about a house for rent on craigslist and got a reply from Africa. LOL! You can't go anywhere without a whole bunch of scammers ruining a great idea anymore. I have to wonder though, how do people still fall for this when it's talked about so much? |

Susan, is this now a running joke, or is there some reason you put your legs up? Always looking for shooting tips. ;)

Hey everyone. I've been a bit quiet lately.
To Snaffles and Quigley: Sounds like you guys had some fun!
To Kashi: I can't stand asparagus. If it turns into a requirement, I quit! ;D
To NikonJeb: Always take pleasure in the nice, relaxing days. They tend to be few and far between. Especially remember them the next time someone steps in front of you while photographing.
To Kelli: Ahhh spammers. They wouldn't still be around if people still didn't fall for it. I have a bunch of 50something aunts that prove it.
To everyone else: Keep on keepin' on! |
