So cold out today I'm not leaving the house unless it catches on fire... maybe not even then!!!!
Took over a hundred shots and this was about the only decent one! Hard to get the focus w/ the LB especially on a shot like this!!!

These are old...well...from this summer. I like looking at my summer stuff when it's so frickin' COLD outside. I've yanked them both from the "BO 2008" challenge so I thought I'd put them here. They are at least new edits and have never been seen before...so it's actually like they are new...kinda.

Will hopefully post a few in a bit, but have discovered a serious problem with my Lensbaby. Took both cameras today - the Rebel with the Lensbaby and the 30D with the usual lenses. Started out with the Rebel. Took the 30D out for about 10 shots, put it away and took the Rebel back out. Damn Lensbaby is addictive.

Edit to add I should have put the Lensbaby away. What I see in the viewfinder and on the display does not at all match what I've ended up with. Having trouble getting anything presentable. I'll keep trying.

And here are a couple from the day, and there are a couple more in the folder just for giggles. Good thing about experiments in digital - I'm not wasting a ton of money on film! :-) I also tried out - briefly - the pinhole/zoneplate thingie. It's two in one - you slide the little doohickey one way for zone plate, the other way for pinhole. I'll post those a bit later as examples.

I spent some more time with my mystic horses this morning:

I'm afraid that there are more of these yet to come.
Unless I go back to the roadside crosses.

Found myself at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio today. Should have upped the ISO to increase the shutter speed. Just wasn't thinking. Probably distracted by the thought of playing hooky for an hour or so.

Finally, my LB Muse (Plastic) came in the mail today! Just by looking at it, I am clueless how it works. But it came with a book. I might be able to get in a shot or two before the month is over. Hah! Wanted to let you know, I've been lurking this side challenge--you are a very inspiring bunch of photogs to a hopeful little grasshopper like me!

Lensbaby has a nice how-to video on their site - sometimes watching someone use a lensbaby is better than reading the booklet. :)

Here's my submission. I wish the lighting had been better, but I think the picture still came out good. This is at the Everett, WA Boeing factory. These planes are used to deliver parts of the new 787 from other factories all over the world.

I'm moving off the reservation, folks. I don't know what possessed me, but I give you "Black Ice"...

It's a pretty pleasant shot, actually, as far as tonalities go, but there's just no *reason* for this to be a Lensbaby shot, if you know what I mean? Looks like you were using one of the smaller apertures, you got a HUGE sweet spot, so your little bit of blur nose and tail just looks like an aberration, a flaw, not an intentional revisioning of the scene...

Yea, I know what you mean, I was actually there to try and get a shot of the one parked in the back, and took a few shots as this one rolled by. The shots of just the one in the back just didn't have good enough light to come out, but I plan on going back to try and get a better one some other time.

I just edited my original reply to remove the image itself; you might want to do the same on the one you answered me in; no reason for that large image to appear 3x in quick succession :-)
