i wish for:
a beginners studio lighting kit, complete with a backdrop and stand.
a nice graphic editing tablet (any use them? would you recommend it or is it a waste of $$?)
and last but not least...a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L :)
but if santa doesn't decide to bring it for me its okay i'm saving up anyways :)

If you do much masking, retouching, dodging/burning, etc. then a graphics tablet is an excellent idea -- the accuracy and ergonomics are far superior to a mouse or trackball for these operations. The small ones (4x5 or 4x6 working area) should be fine for photographic work -- you only need larger if you do actual drawing/painting type artwork directly.

This is what I want for Christmas/Birthday - it's a one/two punch:
Opium Perfum
Lensbaby 2.0 Canon EF Mount SLR Camera Lens
Food Processor - not too huge, but decent size.
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II/III USM
DVDs of The Fifth Element, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, The Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings - all three.
Cookbooks
Whirled Peas
Money to go to Iceland
and so forth... |

Post away on your wishes, like I said before, a bigger pool makes it easier to fulfill a wish!

any sort of filter for a 55mm or a 77mm lens (dont really care, any kind)
Memory Card, after the rebate, only about $6 with shipping

I already listed two things (72mm close up filters and a signed copy of a photograph) but thought I would also throw out .... a DPC hat :-)
Funky socks were a huge hit last year as well. Inexpensive and fun.
Now I will review this list to see what wishes I am able to grant. |

When it comes to material things ;)
My top5:
*Large landscape print from Marc Adamus.
I've started a project where I'm filling wall with pics. No frame or very thing so the pics are close to each other. So prints are on my wishlist.
*Camera bag, big enough for 3lenses and some spare room
*Tripod that can go really low to the ground
*Canon G10
*2 x Vivitar 285HV . Just because I'm not ready to spring $$$ for the Canon 580ExII.
Since I put my brain to work how about another 5.
*oh ok a w1600 White Lightning with softbox
*Thermos Element 5 Vacuum Insulated Travel Mug
*Hand warmers
*Electric blanket
*Winter boots
That was fun. First time I ever made a wish list. You can tell I added the last four while thinking of how cold it's getting outside ;) I shall now keep this list for my own reference. |

Do you mean those little packet things like you get in hunting/camping supplies? Or the little felt covered cases that have the gray sticks that you burn?

I WISH for the 5DMkII and a few studio lights
I also WISH for my house in VA to sell, you know, since I'm not living in it and it's taking away more than 2 weeks salary in mortgage.....6 months strong |
