Dude, if you persist in posting images that are so far superior to mine in every conceivable way, I shall become pissy & snarky.

Okay, see--"snarky" has already started!!

Seems to me, in fact, that you don't even need that there Pentax K10--if you want to ship it to me, I will sacrifice myself to get it out of your way. :-)

lol. NEVER!

See, I just approach this as I approach all my photography. Instead of complaining about what my phone cam can't do, I focus on what it can, and then try to get the best darn shots I can within those parameters. Also, I just have fun with it.

I've been slacking on this thread partly due to my own inability to stick to a schedule and partly due to leaving the micro sd card reader I need on the other side of the state at my boyfriend's house. I am going to try to catch up when I see him this weekend. I think I owe 10 pics to get caught up, so probably 13 by the time I get around to it on Sunday. I will pay up!

I feel like following that lovely Bee Gees interlude with a bit of Gloria Gaynor - I WILL survive...

You'd better, there are some heavies patrolling this thread - you don't want to end up with broken legs... :-P

Not entirely thrilled with what comes out of my phone... rolled it through FotoFlexer which marginally helped.

I've really been impressed with what some of the other phone cams can produce. Mine is not that great, however. All the photos from it are really soft and OOF. I think I fixed the problem, though.

Spotted this famous vehicle while running errands at lunchtime today. I didn't have a real camera with me at the time (shame on me!), so cameraphone to the rescue!

Your phone's camera has some real potential. Get creative and put it to use!

Just found mine does panoramic, this is outside our window. Not too shabby for a cameraphone.

Something different. We had this sunset last night which turned the very air around us into this salmon/coral pink hue that was otherworldly. No DSLR with me, *sigh*, so camera phone it is.

This, no kidding, is a real product: 6x optical zoom for iPhone

I am tempted to get one just for sheer absurdity of it :-)

Okay--decided to try out some in phone photo apps for the iphone--so here you have an original out of the phone, unedited version:

Using the CameraBag application, which applies some presets to the image, you can get this sort of thing (again, directly from the phone):
Helga: Lolo: Cinema:
Ansel: 1962: 1974:
fisheye: infrared:

An there is a suprisingly feature-filled editing app called PhotoGene: this app does a lot of stuff--cropping, straightening, levels, saturation, temp, sharp, effects, so only 3 examples (again, edited in-phone, no in computer PP)

auto levels: manual levels, sat, sharp: manual desat, levels, sharp

Who needs an Iphone? I picked up a Gphone over the weekend.

...and here's my first post from it's camera.

I sucked it up at following through with this. I sat down last night to redeem myself and post, but now I have lost my micro SD card reader again. Where do I buy one of those? Can I get one at the phone store?

I suck. I have no faith that I will be able to handle my PAD that I'm starting in a month and some days. I'm going to go comment on pics in this thread to redeem myself the only way I know how.

That was cool to see, thanks for posting all the different versions :)

I went traveling, and the whole thing just slipped my mind. Ah well, I got some good stuff, but I just can't train myself to use my phone as a camera apparently.

An adapter comes with every micro sd card. I have bunches of them now. Kingston makes a reader that's about the size of a flashdrive. If you want one of my micro to standard SD adapters, send me a snail mail address and I'll put one in an envelope to you. Err. I just realized you are in NZ. Might be easier to just find one there, but if you can't find one, I'll still be happy to send it to you.

That's very generous! Address PMed. ETA: Actually, I'm in Michigan, so I hope it's still okay!

grrr.....looks like another must get application for the iphone. the best thing about it though is that instead of buying a separate P&S for when i go out or have places i don't want to carry my huge camera and lenses...the iphone works just as well. Has any one else used their iphone as a replacement for a p&s camera?

Duh. I had clicked on Archers profile. He's the one in NZ. I'll pop it in the mail to you.
