Insect warning for those who are wary.
This isn't the most artistic expression; however, it was an unusual sight for us - especially at this time of year. Bee-keepers around here have been concerned about the apparent decline in the numbers of honey bees. Because we have a large number of orchards and more and more people in this area are gardening out of necessity, a shortage of bees can be considered a crisis. It is also another indicator that the environment is in trouble.
Today it seems the bee population has discovered my hummingbird feeders. They will hopefully be bee-free tomorrow so I can take them down and pack them away for the winter. |

Not a good image but i thought the interaction between guinea fowl and hailstones after a storm interesting. |

weird things have been going on with my computer .. varied, interesting, seemingly unconnected and a big worry ..
scott, who fixes our computers came over today .. we've decided a new motherboard, more RAM and a quad core might be the way to go .. i love speed .. lol ..

There are blue herons at the lakes nearby. They tend to be shy, so it is difficult to get a good shot of them. These two are of the same heron. Couldn't decide which one I like best.

As far as composition and the technical aspects go, I know this is horrible -- but! I like it anyway. A group of friends dressed up as a bunch of Waldos for Halloween (I took the picture sometime after midnight, so I'm counting it as Nov. 1st's image). |

Kind of a sad day today..
Today's the day I had to pull my small boat from the marina in Vermilion on Lake Erie (not my boat in the photo). Summer flew by way too fast. A little edge blur to represent my misty eyes. I kind of rushed through this one..
