David,
Glad you and the family are fine. The tree limb is a bummer, but the family is the important thing. You'll be in my thoughts. If there is anything I can do from the east coast, just let me know.

Glad to hear you guys survived the storm, even if the house didn't come off so well. I checked in on the Hurricane Tracker during the night whilst up feeding Lachie. It is the most I have watched CNN in, forever.

well Ike was followed up with 4 hours of heavy rain this morning. Very unusual, normally a hurricane is followed by clear weather since the storm takes it all with it as it moves through.

House is badly damaged and will need extensive repair.

Spent the last 4 hours trying to bail water out of the 2 bedrooms that were exposed by the fallen tree. Big fun.

Family is fine, but very frustrated with the feeling of helplessness.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers

haven't heard from Jaime, did IM with tommy last night. No damage to his house, just a lot of debris.

He didn't mention Terasa or his pets, I assume they are fine too

I have crew here now removing the tree. Still no power in most of the city

My parents and sisters and their families are safe and sound

Thank God

Good to hear you are all safe.

It is good to hear that the Texas DPC'ers are all safe. It's still not really safe there until everything is back to normal, so be careful as you go out and work on cleanup and repair. More people get hurt and killed after the main part of the storm has passed than during the actual windy part of the storm in most cases.
Kat, I hope that everything will be ok in your area, except as you said, a lot of tree damage.
Thanks for checking in, so that we know everyone is all right.

Tropical depression Ike is supposed to drop 15 to 20mm of rain on us tonight. Can't you Yankees keep your weather to yourselves?

Good to hear you are still alive and kicking. And I am pleased to hear that the rest of our Members over that way are pulling through...DPC'ers are a tough mob!

Hi all. We are safe and sound and staying with family south of where the brunt of the storm hit. Fortunately my brother has power and water, so we're comfortable now.

We were very lucky, though currently we have no power or water services. Our neighborhood took major damage with many trees falling through houses and cars. We did not have any personal injuries in our 245 house community, but we spent most of yesterday cleaning out property and helping out our neighbors. The rain this morning really compounded a lot of problems. We feel really lucky.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I heard that Ike is actually a drunk Canadian citizen on his way home from vacationing in the Gulf and wreaking beligerent havoc on his way. Feel lucky that he'll be pretty much sobered up by the time he reaches you.

We will be sending you a bill though, eh.

Glad to hear everyone is relatively ok.

That's OK, our socialized health plan will take care of that. ;-P

Glad to hear everyone is ok in TX!!

Here we had 75mph winds, had no power most of today but it's finally back on. A lady 4 doors down has a big tree down on her house. We have 3 down in the back by the creek, thankfully not near the house at all. Still over 200k people in the city without power. We drove around, damage is unreal and we only got a few sprinkles of rain!

Glad to hear you are safe in Louisville too. From what I understand, Cincinnati got hit pretty hard today too. Some friends of mine have roof damage and lost power. Trees are down in a lot of places too. Pretty amazing that this hurricane can still carry so much punch.

Man I feel lucky. I didn't get one drop of rain or even as much as a breeze from this storm in Austin. Good thing too because the one road that leads out to where I live can easily flood. I hope everyone who wasn't as fortunate are doing ok.
