What about the photographers that have only one ribbon and havenât entered a challenge in over a year. Have they retired from competition or will they make a comeback. If you find a One Hit Wonder photographer; post them here.

What a cute idea. Here is one, I wasn't a member here when she was but I "knew" Lianne from another photography site. When I became a member here I asked her why she hadn't been back, she said she was intimidated by the talent here. I can assure you, she has talent of her own!

Times must have been easier then.... a 7.75 with 32 favorites?

this would get what a 4 or a 5 now-a-days?

Challenge #2 -

last challenge entered: 7/12/2005

I think he was banned from the site or something.

Same with most of the photos that won ribbons in 2002.

Langdon probably doesn't mind that surfers with good skills and talent managed to find their way to his site :)

I can't diss on the early members who were here before me. These are the people who got the ball rolling for this site, and there could be no dpc today without them.

(and I imagine that the people who submitted photos back then had the same nail biting, nerve racking, looking at your score like poking a sore tooth experience that I've felt all week during this Ducky II challenge)

This was a commenter on the curvy road shot, someone I'd never heard of. But he'd won a Yellow Ribbon with this Upside-Down picture...
by irae with 33 faves.

(How strange to be entering a four digit Image ID.)

Maybe someone can correct me, but early DPC you couldn't see your scores during the voting period.

My user id is only 3 numbers, and that picture by irae has always cracked me up.

Kylie used to be a DPC stalwart and was, in fact, the first DPCer ever to fave me! She used to pop in from time to time but hasn't posted in months. Come back Kylie!

AGREE x10!!
She also was the first Member to honor me as a favorite photographer. She's a wonderful person and makes you feel welcome.

Kylie I know you have other things going on at the moment but when you find time, there's a lot of photographers he that would love to see you come back and join us.

Oh yeahhhh, I remember Kylie too. She was so sweet to me when I was new. Wonder what happened to her.

I'm amazed at some of the scores in those early challenges. An 8+ for the stop sign. That blows my mind. I wonder what it would get in a 2008 challenge.
