Silly cowboy. Butcher paper, two flashguns, one diffuser, a little foam core, and too much time on my hands.

Thanks so much for the comments, and especially the ones with suggestions (lighting and composition). I had some trouble taming the little slave flash behind my left leg, and I think I kicked it out of position while hobbling onto the set. Tough shot to do solo. The waistband at the back bugged me a little, too, but after thirty or so attempts (hop into the frame, adjust pants, drop change, trip shutter, hop behind camera to check composition) I'd had enough. Cheers!

This was number one in my book. Great job.

CONGRATS to you.

great imagination!! This is one of my favorites. the only thing I wish wasn't there was the back of the pants between the feet, distracting. great photo.

Man, I hate it when this happens. The change on the floor is a nice touch. I like the black and white, and the simplicity of the shot.
05/17/2002 08:06:00 PM
I love the creativity and composition of this photo! Well done!
05/17/2002 04:23:00 PM
Very clever. Some imagination you must have to come up with this image??
05/17/2002 12:24:00 PM
If this is a rip-off of another poster then you only get an 8 but I am going to assume this is original and as such deserves a 10 and to win this week .

On of my 5 best shots this week and my favorite.

If there is one thing wrong with this photo I ant to hear about it cause I am missing it. Perfection.

My favorite - wonderful idea and execution, down to the change. B&w works well here.
05/16/2002 12:08:00 AM
One of my personal favorites, the change is a nice touch. I could see it being one of those weird GAP ads.
05/15/2002 01:28:00 PM
The loose change is a perfect touch. A personal preference would be to make this just a touch more contrasty (in particular, the shadows a bit darker). The only real "flaw" I can see is relatively minor. The lighting on the right hand is stronger than on the left. (All I can see is white on the right, but I can see background on the left.)

Haha. Very cute and witty. The coins are a nice touch. Too bad you didn't have one of those really big round belt buckles though.
