Viva España! Hasta la final!

From your very sorrowful neighbours...

congrats spain, you deserved to win!
but the russians will likely kick your butt if you won't improve from yesterday.
other than that except for the penalty shoot-out the game was pretty lame...

I was pulling for France, but they're out now so now I'm backing Spain.

My prediction is that Turkey will win.

...on a final in wich they will be loosing 3-0 up to 5 minutes before the 90'. Then they score 2 goals in 5 minutes, and another in injury time. Goes to extra time. They suffer 2 goals in the first half, only to score 2 goals in the last 2 minutes of the extra time. Goes to penalties... guess what happens... :)

lol yeah guess you're talking about the final germany vs. turkey. the one the turks score in injury time will be a clear off side so the german fans will get really pissed, then when the turks win the game in penalties after the germans were the clear winner for like 85 minutes of the game, Berlin-Neukölln will be civil war zone! :-D

btw i feel really strange today not having something to look froward to in the evening. what are you guys gonna do the next two evenings without watching football? ;/

Pack my bags and move to Moscow to be there in time for the arrival of the new European Champions. :)

I was originally backing Portugal.

Then the Netherlands....

Now Spain.

Of course that will probably change after the semi-finals.

Russia is playing very well.

Yeah. Well I guess I will be hoping for Spain... next door neighbours after all. It's really a strange euro, Spain is the only group winner to go through to the semis.

Ironic, isn't it? They named it "death group" instantly after the draw and it stuck... and little did they knew it WAS the death group. :-)

They can make watches and chocolate like nobody else, but when it comes to UPS backup power, the Swiss apparently are less than efficient. :-/

Oh, that was indeed annoying. And by the way, I seem to recall from my driving test that an automobile horn is to be used only in case of emergency. Or, apparently, when the home team makes the finals. :-)

actually it was the austrians that screwed up and swiss tv that saved the situation because they had their own tv net set up that was not effected by the power blackout.

but yeah, GERMANY GO FOR IT!!!

Austrians broadcasting in Basel?

The Germans were very very lucky tonight, the Turks played with so much more character and deserved something from the game. But I'm happy for the Germans and hope they go on to win it, albeit with a little more flair than they displayed this evening!

Yeah they seemed a bit messy... a very exciting game, made so by the Turks for sure.

all the broadcasting cables or whatever goes to the broadcasting central in vienna, where they had really heavy thunderstorms, which caused the data transfer to fail, before they could take over the swiss broadcasting.

Ahhh... THAT'S why they said it was a thunderstrike when it wasn't thundering! :-)

Good game...every game the Turks played has been a thriller!

I think tomorrow's will be a good one as well...
