Hey!!! I missed yesterday, BUT I promise I will post pictures tonight. It has been one of those CRAZY hectic weeks. I've got some great ideas for "To Be A Kid Again." Thanks for the understanding.

Day 2: Portraits and Stories

[I can't believe I'm posting this...]

What is Steve thinking? A picture of two awesome lunches, with limited DOF, questionable oversharpening and overhead lighting? Let me a tell you a story of how we got to this place:

Once upon a Thursday Steve fell in love with his office building's Daily Thursday Special of Lasagna (pictured above). He liked it so much that yesterday, when he arrived late to the office, he asked the deli-lady to set aside a serving for him on Friday, to which she happily agreed. However, not until he arrived home later that evening, did Steve find out that his wife had booked them for "Pasta Night" the next evening.

Being the kind of guy to uphold his commitments, Steve purchased the Lasagna on Friday. Let's all say it together: "Carboverload." Now what to do?

Catching the office manager in the hall, Steve put in an order for chicken, straight-up no carb's, and into the 'fridge the lasagna went.

Not forgetting about the poor picture quality, Steve realized too late that he had packed the light meter this morning and not the flash unit on his way to the office, so he had to make do with not-enough office lighting, a compromised aperture and hand-holding at a slow shutter-speed.

How's that for a story?

:-)

Here's my man made object 3. I'm glad I chose this topic, it's proving to be a challenge just to come up with an interesting subject.

Day 2 - Outside again.

I braved a tornado warning for this shot.
(OK, so the warning was two counties away... it was still a bit tense.)

If you're still taking requests - I'd love for you to grab that macro lens and get the head of a sea-monkey.

I so enjoyed these that were done by Jutilda and sittingonthegrass that I tried one myself! My theme this month is "Backsides" so this would be the backside of a beautiful red rose.

Day 2 - Musical Instruments. I love the lattitude of a side challenge.

ETA: This is a b/w version based on iamwoman's suggestion (I think it works better this way)...

I hope your monitors are calibrated so you can see the slight nuances in the background. ;~)
