Look into the leftmost window of the first floor bay window and you CAN see half of one picture.

There's a tastefully done sign hanging on the wall advertising my work available at the gallery that does my framing.

It's a pretty upscale place......I hope it'll generate business.

This is one of what I hope to be more shots I will take for a website.

came across this interesting blog, thought I'd share...

Just as I get back in to commenting on those photos to which I give lower votes, I get a pm which makes me want to go back to leaving these ones well alone. To quote 'I imagine you didn't just pick up a camera (etc). There was a learning curve. Well, some of us are learning too, and I would appreciate constructive comments on mine.' I do try and leave constructive comments, but am obviously failing to meet the mark. I don't know whether I should continue to comment but go down the baghead route ( and have people complain in the forums about lack of moral courage etc) or just return to only commenting on those that appeal to me. I feel fed up and demoralised.

Go the baghead route and comment away. Usually by the end of the challenge, the ones who are going to snap back will forget to look up who sent the comment. Ignore the pm's entirely. Don't write back until after the challenge, and then do so in the comments section of the picture.

Don't let the few stop you. The rest of us are more than willing to take what we get. I for one would LOVE someone to really pick apart some of my shots.

you can't help someone's reaction, Sara - do baghead if it helps you get past the few nigglers and don't worry about issues of 'cowardice' - as long as you're satisfied you didn't say something rude like "why did you even bother?", you can't help if someone will take it that way

and for what it's worth, the pm you quoted seems like a reasoned response, even if it rejected your comment as unconstructive - at least the person didn't call you names :)

as Deb said, don't let the few stop you :)

The comment you left on mine was nice. :)

I have been trying to propose everyone automatically be bagheads till after the voting ends, as showing commenter's names serves no contructive purpose. All it does is give people the opportunity to leave hot headed pm's which discourage voting, or worse yet encourages less moral individuals to contact the voters and try to explain the photo to them in hopes of getting a higher vote, which is of course totally against the rules.

Please note that when I rant about a comment left on here I NEVER pm them and complain or even explain during voting. If I am really upset I will pm them after voting is done, in a polite way and let them know that their perception was incorrect.

I'm very pleased to see some Team Suckers with good scores going in Led Zeppelin. Looking forward to see who did what. I very much enjoyed voting that challenge. Silverware wasn't quite as good, though there are some really good ideas in that one. I didn't comment on that one yet, though.

Just do as you would be done by, Sara. Any comment's better than no comment. Your photography seems to be coming along in leaps and bounds, so there's every reason to feel that your comments are worth having. Let the ingrates stew in theirs.

Hear, hear!

DFriday night and I am bored out of my teensy little brain, think I'll go rip up some more ugly plywood off of my lovely maple floor then shoot a blurry mess of something...

I never respond to comments on my entries made during voting because I don't want to give myself away. I'm sure if someone gave me a 3 with a nasty comment, and I sent an equally snippy PM, they could change their vote to a 1!

I agree about comments being anonymous until voting ends. If there's a really nasty comment, the photographer can report it to the SC.

I was all set to go get some nice messy blurry photos of an outdoor fashion show tonight. Then 15 minutes before I was to leave the house, a tornado watch was posted. I was not in the mood to go out in dangerous thunderstorms with my camera in order to get a blurry mess. I think I'll sit at home tonight and become a blurry mess.

just be sure and stay out of the tornado's path. that could make a bad blurry mess.

i dont have any idea of what to shoot for a blurry mess

Try putting the camera on manual focus. Then maladjust it and start shooting. Maybe you'll get some sort of blurry messy kaleidoscope effect. It could be fun. Or twist the camera while doing the maladjusted manual focus. That would be very messy. Or go back to that potter and put your shutter speed very slow while the wheel turns (with a maladjusted manual focus).

I think I have achieved my limit of blur this evening. :P

I'm in Peek-a-Boo with a shot that I'm sure will bomb. In my opinion it's a good shot. BUT... well, you know the rest.

She is doing fine. Growing like a weed. Today is her 2nd birthday. Here is a pic I shot recently. She was kind of mad because she didn't want her face washed! That's my other granddaughter, Marisa looking at her like she's crazy!

She does have a little more hair! LOL

I've been meaning to ask - it's not a murder of crows?

Here are a couple of examples of manual focus set to maximize blur:

And a couple other blurry messes:
