*wiping sweat from my brow* phew, that was a lot of hard work doing all those comments for Landscape!

Going off to BC this weekend for Dad's 82nd (same bday as QE2) and have to admit none of the new challenges are turning my crank, so I may take the week off and just comment instead. Besides, parents' comp doesn't have PS!

BTW what a stunning array of images in Negative...no wonder my humble entry is sucking!

ah, I won't worry about it...actually it looks from the score thread that a lot of people are being pounded right now, so maybe after the first wave things will pick up. It's a small-sized challenge, so it should draw a lot of voters.

:)

That score is a shame Karen. It is a hilarious entry!

Shame on those voters! I thought your image would get you in the upper 6 range at least.

Centered DIY landscapes are up in the results thread. Congrats to k4ffy for a personal top 5, to snaffles (who will be very busy with her comments) for leading the Homemade Landscapes, and to noraneko for the top Centered and overall score for the week!

ETA: noraneko's shot placed 10th!

We don't let a low score get in the way of a dream!

As our seditious philosophy gained ground, our ranks grew, until we became more than just a team. We became a league of teams in wholesome if not entirely serious competition with each other. And that's the way we all became Team Suck.

This thread is for suckers to commiserate and compete. It can also be used for anyone with questions or comments about the Suck lifestyle. If you do wish to join us, we ask that you participate at DPC for a while to see if sucking really is your style, and we ask that you fulfill whatever half-brained initiation we come up with at that moment."

Team Suck Policy Statement

posthumous quote:

"I don't make these very often. In fact, I might never make these, but this is a pretty fundamental policy that I'm talking about, and it's a necessary one for our survival in DPC. It has to do with voting practices. Obviously, we are not responsible for the voting practices of our members, but to go further I'd like to suggest some guidelines for how Team Suckers vote:

- We do not share photos with each other and then vote on them.
- We do not vote higher on images just because we think they were made by a member of Team Suck.
- We do not encourage each other to vote higher for certain types or styles of images. We pride ourselves on our variety of tastes and styles.
- We do not encourage any particular voting method, though we might frown at people with 3.67 voting averages and make grumbling noises.
- The only way we might influence voting is indirectly, by enriching everyone's tastes and opening their minds to what can be beautiful, and this sort of discussion is never about an identifiable picture in a current challenge."

Hello all, been in the background recently just watching and getting ready for a trek off the beaten track to add some moral support for a friend of ours (past 25 years), Christine lives on a 100,000 hectare cattle station in north Queensland. The recent floods took all but what she was standing in, house, prize bulls, all her memory of her life on 8 Mile station. I have been trying to restore photo's that were posted down to me, unfortunatly the water has destroyed so much of the print it is difficult to find some of the image. The town of Dalbeg (pop.45) is actually on the station, we are going to try and turn the old school house into livable accommadation,as well as see if the homestesd that was moved off its foundations can be recovered.(the insurance company is only paying 25% of the loss saying the water came from the wrong direction for her policy cover)
I do not know if the internet will be up and going when we get there, Chritine has bought a laptop for me to work on more recovery of the history of 8 Mile station.
We are leaving on the 19th April, pulling a trailer with goods we have put together as well as from our friends down here. the station is 1400KLM from home we hope to make it in 1 day.
You all be good to each other, may be able to talk when we are there.

This is one of the better photo's of her father water damaged, and my restoration.

This is where we will be and would like to share this with all team members, and those thast come to see.

Hey, I got a proof request today for my Body PartsII shot, of all things. So being a good little girl I dug up the original file and tried, twice, to submit it. However even though the bar at the bottom indicates that the file has been uploaded, I get no conformation that it has been successful. Or not successful. Anyone have any ideas why? I suspect that the fact that I am a) on dialup and b)trying to do it at a busy time of day, 5pm, may be slowing things down a little...but still weird.

Have you tried it again at this time of night? I would do it again, if you have not gotten a message it was successful. If that does not work I would send SC a message through the "help" section and let them know you are having problems and see if they will give you an email address to send it in that way instead of through the upload, which seems to be timing out.

Yup :) Better than me at it too. Here's a video
Still haven't quite got a portrait shot of him I'm completely happy with (it's a work in progress), but here's the best one so far.

He looks like a philosopher...AND a redhead...if he's left-handed, you've scored a hat trick! :)

Not left-handed. Still eccentric enough to appeal to me though :p

Actually you did that to yourself by putting it in the Nude gallery. The SC does not look at each photo and flag which ones should be hidden.

Did I put it in the Nude Gallery...goshdarn guess I did,lol...and purple, who said it was Byron's bicep? he was the photog...more LOL!!!!

lol Thought it looked a bit too smooth... (your description just said 'thanks Byron', so I assumed he was the model)
