Not the whole song, just a part of the chorus.
"..and the shadow of the day
will embrace the world in gray
and the sun will set for you."
(From Linkin Park's "Shadow of the Day" on the Minutes to Midnight CD)
What do you have in your portfolio for this?
Here's one to start:

Hope this fits. Some strong shadows in this, though the shadows are not the main subject.

Not sure if this would count as a shadow or silhouette, but it seems to fit the theme...

Lotta nice shadows here :-) But we are (unfortunately, IMO) drifting away from the the holistic approach to the entire lyric, which is hauntingly beautiful and evocative, and switching into "flavor of the day mode" where it's become "show us your best shadow shot".
I don't really CARE, of course, but I was looking forward to seeing more images that capture that sense of refined melancholy that heightens in the face of the coming of the night.
"..and the shadow of the day
will embrace the world in gray
and the sun will set for you."

The middle line fit this shot from yesterday ...
Hmmm ... after I saw Bear_Music's post I made a colorized version:

Not sure how my post favors color over neutral, but LOVE the shot :-)

Thank you -- I think it was reminding me about the "setting sun" which made me want to try and get away from the all-gray look.
I'll post screen-shots of the "funny" curves I used to get that effect -- no selections used ...

First a curve on the Blue/Yellow channel and then one on the Red channel
